About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

My Thrifty Walgreens Deals

Before sales or coupon this would have cost  $17.63

I was able to get it all for $2.15

Plus I got back a $3 register reward

027

I used coupons, then paid with $4 in register rewards to bring my total down to $2.15

Christmas cups .29 cents each with instore coupon only .13 cents each (used as a filler item, so my coupon ratio would work out)

Nabisco Register Reward  Deal: 5/$10 get $3 RR when you buy 5

  • use the $1 from 11/8 Smart Source – any Nabisco cracker
  • -$10 Nabisco rebate – you’ll need to do two separate transactions
  • Final Price: 5/$2 or $.40 each – OVERAGE after rebate!

Walgreens tips

  • One thing to remember about Walgreens RR is you can not use a ”chap stick RR” to pay for another chap stick and have another RR print.  BUT you can use a  “toothpaste” RR to pay for chap stick and have another RR print.
  • Also remember that Walgreens has a coupon item ratio rule, you can only use as many coupons as you have items.  They count RR as coupons.   So if  I was only buying 4 items ( all of which had manufacture coupons which meant my item coupon ratio was already 4 to 4) I wanted to pay with a RR I would need to ad a filler item something cheap like a pencil.  This would then make my coupon ration 5 ( 4 manufacturer coupons and 1 register reward) and my item ratio 5.  I then could pay with my coupons and RR with no problem. An instore coupon does NOT count as a coupon in this ratio….just as a sale price.
  • Also remember that only one RR per product will print per transaction.  For example If wanted to buy 3 bottles of Aussie shampoo.  In order to have 2 RR print for each one I had to buy them in 3 transactions.  My store is happy to let me go thru the line more than once ……but some store will limit you.
  • You can not pay for sales tax with a RR

  • got the coupons, got the diabetic mag, got to the store on a Tuesday and of course, our Walgreens (all 3 of them!) were totally sold out of wheat thins & triscuits. our stores here totally DON’T stock for their RR or sales…..it’s very disappointing!!

if i don’t make it on a Monday, i don’t get in on the deals…..

Yeah, I was just going to say what Chriscia said.

When you use the Diabetes IVC coupon and buy 5, it will knock off another $2.50. That makes it 50 cents overage before the rebate.

Just a heads up if you repeat the deal again.

  • Chriscia

There is a $1/2 coupon in the diabetes mag. at walgreens. It will take $.50 off each wheat-thins or triscuit you buy. So it turns into a $1 MM before the rebate.

  • THanks Rhonda…. My readers are the best! thanks for the help

Crackerfuls (6oz) don’t meet the package size requirements (greater than 9oz). If you go to the nabisco site and dowload the form, there are pictures of the qualifying items (basically Ritz, Triscuits and Wheat Thins as far as crackers go).

    Hope this helps.

Do you know if the Crackerfuls are part of the $10 rebate promotion. I have read the fine print and tried to look it up on their website to no avail. Wish there were a phone number I could call even.
