. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Jumbo family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Kerrick Klopfenstein and Maribel Cruz this is the 270th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Jumbo family in a village in southern Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief who also sent us someone to locate the Jumbos. The Jumbos have 6 children and they all live in a two bedroom mud house. They don’t have plumbing and this village also haven’t had light for years. To get water they go to a local stream or collect rain water from the roof.

The Jumbos cook in a semi open kitchen made of sticks and palm fonds. They cook with the cheapest fuel which is firewood. The Jumbos are farmers and they depend on farming to feed their kids. Even though the farming season this year has been a poor one, the Jumbos have still found ways to survive and sell some of their farm produce in the local market.

We were glad to meet this special family. They had just come back from the farm and was not expecting the bag of Rice. They were very grateful and thanked those who donated this bag of Rice to them. It has been hard for this family to survive and they can’t afford a bag of Rice so this came at the right time for them.
