. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Love family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to A group of men in North Pole, Alaska, purchased these bags in honor of their wives and mothers for Mother’s Day.” This is the 310th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Meet Mrs. Love Mfon, a native of Uruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Although her good look makes it pretty hard to predict her actual age, she appears to be in her late 50s. She was widowed some few years back, her husband’s demise left behind, four children for her to cater for. According to her, this has been a difficult task for her to handle because of the current standing of the economy. She sells fruits in front of the village motor park, the proceeds from the sales are not enough to cater for the family. She travels to different villages to buy these fruits, where most of these fruits are quite seasonal. They live in a two bedroom mud house with palmfrond-made roof, with not water or electricity. The roof also serves as salvage for drying laundries.

When we presented her with a bag of rice, she was ecstatic, and in disbelief that two strangers would bring such a blessing. She offered thanks and prayers to the suppliers of this gift, entreated and sang tunes because of the extraordinary work God has brought for their family through the contributors.
