Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Campaign
. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Oscar family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Joseph Callahan this is the 424th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Meet Mrs Promise Oscar, 40 year old widow from Ikom ima village in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa ibom State. She narrated to us how the death of her husband has made life difficult for her, his demise was shocking, ever since then she has been feeding from hand to mouth. She has a small farmland which she inherited from her late husband, the little produce from the farm are sold and used to cater for the two kids he left behind.

Looking at where she lives, a wooden house, laced round with trampoline, the scene is truly not too good to behold. She has lived there for over three years because she couldn’t afford a good apartment around the village.

She was ecstatic to say the least when we presented a bag of rice to her family, she immediately bursted into songs of praise to God for remembering her in this time of great need.
