About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Barbie – Free Activities and Instant Game

In September All You Magazine, there is a Barbie Movie add. For any of you not familiar with the Barbie Movies, they are a great series of fairytales, new and old. They are clean, cute, and great for kids.

Their new movie, Barbie and the Three Musketeers is coming out September 15, 2009.

A Pink Ticket Party Game Piece is included with every movie, for their instant win game (good 7/1/2009 to 1/30/2010). You could win a variety of prizes it looks like. Since the movie is not out, I’m not sure how they plan on conducting this, but it looks interesting. Especially if you have a little girl who loves the Barbie Movies!

    Regarding the Barbie Girl Video. There was a Barbie Girl Video done by Aqua. Recently Mattel did their own version of the song with “cleaner” words. I looked at Barbie.com and they have Mattel’s Barbie Girl Video and the 2nd video is how to do the dance. I didn’t see a link to youtube.com Otherwise, I’ve never seen a problem with Barbie.com and their links.

    Sarah, I just want to warn you about Barbie.com. My girls LOVE barbies and the movies and asked if they could go to the website one day. I’m not sure how it all happened, but I just know they ended up on youtube watching some inappropriate videos to “barbie girl” the song. My kids are no longer allowed to go to that site with out parents watching. Anyhow, just an FYI!
