I am a stay at home mom with three wonderful kids. I have been married for over 8 years to my best friend. I am head over heals in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.
I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.
I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Sarah has always been very thrifty. Even on special occasions. I remember when we first got married and I bought her a dozen long stem roses on Valentines Day. She said thanks, but later made it very clear that she doesn’t like getting flowers or jewelry or candy as gifts. Only because she feels its a wasted effort. She would rather spend that money on something that is useful. So the next holiday after that I bought a vacuum and she thoroughly enjoyed that gift… go figure

 So yesterday when I was doing my shopping I stopped at a few stores that sell the Sunday papers all week, to see if I could grab a few extra copies. I wanted them for the coupon inserts, but mainly for the 3 double coupons that came on the back of the Red Plum. They are good till the 21st of this month so I have lots of time to get some thrifty deals with them. Of course every store I went to was sold out. My Albertsons said they were gone by noon on Sunday.
I was ok not getting any more being that I already had some at home. But while I was at the store there must have been 5 people come ask for the Sunday papers. They were all very disappointed. I know many of you do not subscribe to the paper because you want to wait to see what is in it first, before you stock up on that weeks paper. But you then run the risk of having them sell out, You can get 4 Sunday papers delivered to your door, plus the daily paper for only .60 cents a paper! I have GREAT news! Many of you know I have worked out a coupon special with the Idaho Press Tribune ( my local paper). It is by far the lowest price in town and delivered right to your door. You will get 4 Sunday papers ( the ones with all the coupon inserts) plus you get a daily paper for the low price of $13.80 a month.
Here is the GREAT news, as of 2 months ago they did not deliver to Boise, but they had so many calls from Boise they are now covering parts of Boise.
