Free back to school printable

free back to school printable is a perfect way to celebrate at home. Or makes a good teacher gift.Free back to school printable

It is that time of year again! Kids are headed back to school. Some are excited about it, others, not so much.  I have some of each in my house. I am excited for them though. It’s fun to think of the new things they will learn and the friends they will make.

Here is a fun printable for you to enjoy! Click here back to school to download the pdf. Just select it, save to your computer and then send to your favorite printer. You can also click the photo below and save it to your computer. I have found that sometimes the pdf prints better, but not all printers will print a pdf version. Either should be fine.

I love decorating for each season but it can be expensive. Having a frame that you change out with printables for each season and fun event during the year is a thrifty, fun way to add some seasonal flair to your home, office, classroom, etc.

I think it would be cute with some fun school supplies for a beginning of the year teacher gift also. Print it small and make it into a card, throw in a gift card or something else your teacher will love and you have a thrifty gift in almost no time at all.

So now that it is back to school, it’s time to get back to a routine and order. I am looking forward to that aspect of it, even if the thought of getting up at six in the morning every day isn’t my favorite thing LOL. So good luck and I hope this is your best year yet!

Patching denim holes with lace

You don’t have to expose it all with the holes in your jeans. Patching denim holes with lace is easier than you would think!

Patching denim holes with lace

We have all had denim that wore out, but now you can even buy denim with the holes already there. Sometimes it looks good, but I am not a fan of my upper thighs peaking through a hole in my jeans.  I liked the style of these jeans, but planned on giving them a quick fix that also looks good! Adding some lace will not take away the look of the style, but maybe help you be a little less self conscious.

All you need is some lace, thread that matches your denim as closely as possible, sewing scissors and needle.

Begin by cutting the lace slightly larger than the size of the hole you are patching. Mine came with 4 holes and I bought a yard of ribbon to be safe, and it patched them all with some left over.

By using the thread the same color of your denim to help disguise the stitching.  Keep it close to the edge of the hole. Hold the lace with one hand to prevent it from moving while stitching with the other hand.

One of the holes in particular was a lot larger than the others that I was patching. I doubled up the lace on this particular hole to give it more layering.

Simply sew around each hole and tie off your thread. Trim the extra lace off to keep it from curling and feeling uncomfortable on your leg.

That is it! With very little effort or time you have made the holes look different and given it a little oomph. It makes the jeans look great and adds a little extra style!

DIY Emoji party invitations, teen or tween party idea

Looking for a fun party theme for your teen or tween, DIY Emoji party invitations, teen or tween party idea

DIY Emoji party invitations, teen or tween party idea

I love making invitations for my kid’s birthday parties, but don’t want to take forever or spend a lot of money.

My daughter had a birthday and it was time to come up with something fitting for her.

You will need

Yellow cardstock or construction paper

markers, vinyl or paper in black, white, red

markers to write the party details on the back

scissors or a circle template cutter

I cut my circles in 4 inches and they seem to be perfect for a party invitation.

Begin by cutting your yellow cardstock into circles. I love this Martha Stewart circle cutter that I have had for years. You do need a self healing mat if you are going to use a cutter like this though.

Once you have your circles cut it is time to decorate them. Scraps of vinyl were used and I have the faces used if you are interested in them. I created them myself, so I don’t mind sharing. They were made on my trusty silhouette, so they are in that format, so shoot me a message or post in the comments if you are interested.

Just write your party information on the back and you are done. This would also be cute as a party banner, party coasters, so many options and they are so cute!
