One of our readers, Jen, sent us a deal she found at Paul’s Market in Kuna, Id:
I ran across a deal at Paul’s Market in Kuna this morning but I’m sure it is available at other Paul’s markets. There is a end aisle stand with boxes of Idaho Spuds instant mashed potatoes (13.7oz.). They are priced 2 for $4.00 and the display has a $.65 coupon you can use. In addition, there is a “Try Me Free” sticker on the box. So you can get these potatoes FREE after rebate! The rebate give you an option of a refund up to $2.99 or $4.00 in coupons for Idaho Spuds.

A Cashier at a Walmart store sent us this comment. I had permission to post it because I think it is a good reminder that rules are frustrating to both customers and employees when they are at the mercy of the manager on duty:
I’ve been reading your site and honestly as a cashier myself I don’t even know the Walmart policy. The problem with it is that the rules seem to change with whatever manager or CSS is on duty. One CSS will say ‘yes we accept this’ one day and on another day a different CSS will say ‘no, we don’t accept this’ It’s very frustrating because not only do we look like we don’t know what we’re doing, we’re angering the customer because they have to wait while we figure it out. As an update for your website I talked to a co-manager 2 days ago and he said that you absolutely have to have the AD in order for us to match it, no you cannot use a coupon with AD matching because it’s fraud and we’re using their AD as a coupon (don’t ask me, it doesn’t make sense to me either) AND we absolutely DO NOT AD match to Paul’s Market. The reason for Paul’s is because ‘they are not near us and are not considered our competitor’ – DIRECT quote from manager. I know it’s frustrating for all those who coupon, but what couponers need to realize is that we are people too. We shop, AD match , coupon, and stand in line just like they do. It’s not our fault that Wal-Mart can’t make a decision and stick with it. Please be nice to us cashiers!

It has been reported that Caldwell Paul’s Market has all greeting cards, except Leanin Tree, on sale for $0.25 each!
As of 7/5 they had a huge assortment.
They might have this variety available so print before you head out, if they do this would make for a Thrifty item for stocking up on
Save $1.00 on any 3 American Greeting Cards
Thanks reader Nadia

Starting 5/4 Paul’s in Idaho has Pantene shampoo/conditioner for $2.97 each.

Final price comes out to $1.47 each when you buy 2!

Thanks to Tamera for this tip,
I was in my local Fred Meyer today. I found they have Purex on sale for $1.99. Use the $1 off coupon from the paper on Sunday, makes it .99 cents. But my local Freddy’s will take Safeway double coupons up to 4 in a transaction, so I was able to grab these for .49 cents!

I just wanted to share a good deal I came across today at Pauls on Lake Hazel and Five Mile. They have the four pack of Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits on sale for $3.98. If you use the dollar off coupon and an Albertson’s doubler, the cost is only $1.98 per box! I was able to get three boxes with with three manufacturer coupons and one set of doublers and the total was only $6.48. My little boy loves these biscuits for quick, on the go breakfasts so I was pretty tickled. This is the last day of the sale, but I just had to share.
Thanks Kimmie

I have heard from a few of my readers that Pauls Food stores will take competitors coupons, they will also take the Albertsons Double coupons. I call to confirm this at my Caldwell store, and they said yes they will be happy to take them. So if you live close to a Pauls Market you may want to stop in and get some good deals. This is a good tip for those who live close to the Albertsons stores that will only allow 3 doubles a day. Click here to find a Pauls near you.
Thanks Michele for this Thrifty Tip
