I am a stay at home mom with three wonderful kids. I have been married for over 8 years to my best friend. I am head over heals in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.
I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.
I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Update_ The Harvest unit is one sale already at 25% OFF, plus if you use this link, you will get an addition 10% off on top of that.
Some women dream of fancy handbags, name brand jeans or diamonds….. not me I dream of perfect food storage shelves! I told Matt this while he was putting my new shelves together, and he about fell over laughing at me. I know I am not a typical woman….but you have no idea how excited I was about these shelves….I am still smiling about them!
We recently got the coolest thing to storage! A storage system from Shelf Reliance. These are the best shelves ever! Why for a number of reasons!

First is that as a couponer we tend to develop so many surplus items that we find on great deals. We tend to quickly over stock our shelf’s that they start to bend and bow. Trust me had this same problem! When we got the new shelving units and opened them they were built from heavy duty metal. All of the metal such as the cross bars that the shelf’s sit on, and the upper and lower bars that hold the vertical corner pieces and the vertical corner pieces as well.
Second is that with all of the products we stockpile they can be hard to find. The units even come with these great labels, that went with many different types of foods and products! It makes it so easy for kids to go out look at the animal and grab the chicken soup, or see the cow and grab the beef broth. With easy to follow instructions, and great labels to keep track of all the different products we come home with.
Third is that even a child could put these together ( with adult help of coarse). Spend some time with the family putting these together. We were able to put ours up in about 40 minutes. And its a great project to include the whole family in. It makes it fun for kids to help with getting dinner ready. By putting this together they gain a sense of ownership. When its dinner time they will run out to grab they can food with such pride and knowing they helped.
Fourth is that these can fit in any space. They have multiple sizes both depth and width and even height. So if you have a small home , or a large garage or pantry room to fill these are definitely what you need to get.
Fifth but definitely not last, these help so much to free up space, and to save with the confusion of which can should I use first. It’s a perfect rotation system, that you know we all have struggled to imitate. These help so much to effectively use up our food storage appropriately….nothing worse than a your thrifty deals going bad, because they get lost in the back of the shelf. That won’t happen with the automatic rotation!
Now thanks to the folks at Shelf Relience Systems you can use the code THRIFTYFRS ( Good until March 13th )to save 25 % off your purchase of any single Food Rotation System.
This month the Harvest 72 is on sale for 25% off ($344.99 instead of $459.99) and with that couponfor an additional 10% off, it would be $310.49.
All of their Food Rotation System (FDS) units are on sale this month for 20% off. But a select few are 25% off (The Pantry 39, Pantry 72, Harvest 72 & 72 #10, all our Ready Racks, the Cansolidator Pantry and Pantry Plus). That coupon will also work on accessories for the Harvest such as their casters (wheels), top rack, side shelves, etc.
SALE TILL END OF FEBRUARY – SEE BOTTOM OF POST
Do you remember the giveaway I did for DaisyDoodle Beads? I was excited that one of my readers won a free watch. I am so excited to do a product review on these adorable watches. DaisyDoodle Beads is a small company run by a stay at home Mom who loves to create things that people love and that will last. All watch bands are made with the finest materials available and come with a guarantee.

I picked out two of the ”mini me” watches being that I have very small wrists, and I am not into bulky watches. They are the perfect size and very comfortable to wear. I was worried the beads might get in the way, but I love them.

Here is the best part of these watches, you can switch out the faces and watch bands. They have lobster clasps on the end so you can mix and match watch faces and watch bands to match your outfits or your mood!

They also stretch so you can can get a very comfortable fit, and they are easy to take off and on.

So my Mom always says…oh that is cute, I bet I can make that. SO of course that is how I think too…..Most the time you can make it yourself for half the cost. But when I started looking into making my own bands I realizes I would have to buy a whole strand of beads, and there is not a very good selection at my local stores. You end up paying $6-$15 per bead strand, yes you could turn them into a watch band…but they would be all the same bead ( not very cute).
She has a really good selection of fun, beads that have lots of character. At what I think is a very good price….In fact she has a sale going on now till the end of Feb - all watch bands are marked down to only $15, and are buy 5 items get 1 free. (Free item being of equal or lesser value) WOW this is a Thrifty deal! Click here to visit her Etsy Store.
One of the fun perks of running my blog is getting to try out new products. Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzels asked me if I would like to try some of their new products…of course I said yes. Today the doorbell rang and it was the FedEx man with a package. I told my girls it was a surprise for their tea party. They were SO excited… you would have thought it was Christmas morning!
Inside was 3 bags of Snyder’s of Hanovers new products, chocolate covered pretzels.
- Peanut Butter Pretzel Sandwich Dips, Dipped in Hershey’s Milk Chocolate
- Bite-sized Nibbler Pretzel Dips, Dipped in Hershey’s Milk Chocolate
- Peanut Butter Pretzel Sandwich Dips, Dipped in Hershey’s White creme chocolate
We gave all 3 of them a try and loved them all! They are sweet and salty, the perfect snack. They are almost like a tiny little candy bar…so good! Our favorite were the two with peanut butter. The Girls liked the Milk Chocolate dipped peanut butter pretzel sandwich, and I like the ones dips in white chocolate. Thanks again for letting us try your new product, they made our tea party extra special. This gets an A+ in our “Mom likes it review” To view their website and all their products click here.

If you would like a $1.00 off coupon Nature Valleys new Granola Nut Clusters click HERE AND HERE
One of the perks of writing my blog is sometimes I am asked to do product reviews. I was happy to be asked to try Nature Valley’s new product, Granola Nut Clusters. I was so excited to try these out being that granola is one of my favorite cereals.
When I opened the bag I was surprised to see all these perfect little clusters, about the size of a quarter. So Matt and I enjoyed them as a snack while watching TV. They are the perfect combo of sweet and salty….watch out, the whole bag will be gone before long, they are so good. The next morning I tried them with milk, just as yummy! If you are going on a hiking trip or camping these would be great to take along!
The only negative thing I have to say about them is there size is not ideal for small children, Being that I have little ones I need to be aware of things like that, but other than that these get an A+ in my book!
These get a huge thumbs up from me!

We were contacted by Hormel Foods telling us about their great deli meats, they asked us if we would like to try them. They also wanted to make sure my readers knew about the great Hormel coupons going on right now, Click here to print the coupons.
Unknown to us, they sent us some in the mail. Not the coupons but actual packages of deli meat. What a surprise. I have to tell you I have never gotten something shipped in ice. I thougth it was really cool! I know I am a small town girl and little things make me happy! By the way my kids had a blast with all that bubble wrap!

Needless to say Matt jumped right in and started opening the packages. They sent us their Deli Chicken, Deli Turkey, Deli Ham, and their Hard Salami
We love making pepper rolls with the hard salami. The best way is very thin slices of salami. Then spread cream cheese in the middle. Amount depends on how much cream cheese you like. Then lay slices of Pepperoncini. We like to buy them pre sliced. Then lay one or two slices or more, depending on the flavor you prefer. Roll them up and you have a great appetizer.
All their meat is so tender, and perfectly cooked. The slices are perfect thickness. And another thing I like is that the packaging is zipped lock, and not the cheap zip locked bags that tear or rip when you try and open them. Plus these meats are all natural. They didn’t add water to increase weight or moisture content. You know what I am talking about. That kind of deli meat that you have to drain before you pull out meat. So try it our for your self! Last month I was sent an email asking me if I would like to try Honey Kix for free, so of course I said yes. A few days later I was sent a coupon for a free box of Honey Kix. I have to be honest with you, normal Kix is not my first choice when it comes to breakfast cereal. So I would have never bought the new Honey Kix on my own.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. My kids all had a bowl of it and asked for seconds. My son Matthew asked if he could have some more of the ” crunchy little ball cereal” The light coating of honey is just enough to give it that sweet taste, but not coated in sugar like some cereal. My girls put it in their little play dishes, and had fun cooking with it all afternoon.
I would have to give it a big thumbs up! It is good for you, good tasting, and my kids loved it. You can’t go wrong. Thanks again to the Honey Kix team for letting us try your cereal.

Have you ever tried a new product, and then hated it? This is one of the reasons I love coupons. I am able to try new products at a lower price, or even free. These four items are some of my favorites. All of them were FREE except the face wash I paid .50 cents for. Not that I want to pay full price for anything, but I now know they are well worth the money and would think about buying them in the future.
Gillette Body wash- I was able to pick these up for free last month at Target. My husband was totally stuck on one brand of body wash, but I refused to pay $4 for it when this was Free. SO I put it in the shower and once the old soap was gone this was his only choice…unless he wanted to smell like a girl and use mine. He used it and now has decided he likes it just as well if not better than his other brand. I think he smells pretty good too. My 7 year old son uses it, he thinks it is fun to smell like Daddy.
pHisoderm anti-blemish gel face wash- This was $7 dollars but they had it on clearance ,and I had a coupon so I got it for .50 cents. I wish I would have grabbed a few more. I have been really happy with it, and I think my skin looks a lot better. Am I the only 28 year old that still had a zip pop up out of no where….I thought they were suppose to go away after high school. Anyway I really like this product, and will keep my eye out for if again!
Glade Lasting Impressions- I have a hard time with “smells” I tend to get a headache. But this has been great, it fills the room quickly but has a light scent that I love. I thought it was broken at first because it is fan powered and I could not hear it running….till I notices this tiny little fan spinning away quite as a mouse. I love it and plan to buy refills…with coupons of course. You can get your own for free this week at Walgreens.
Reach Ultraclean dental floss- I am not sure what this is made of, plastic thread of some sort. When I first opened it I thought it was weird stuff, till I used it….LOVE IT. This slides so easy and has a fun minty flavor, and is easy on my gums. I hid it from my kids so they can’t wrap each other up with it ( like they did the last floss I bought) I love it! It is on sale this week at Walgreens and I hope to get some more.
So have you tried anything new with coupons? Tell me about your favorites.
