Thanks to my friend Tina for letting me know about this great deal on Wonka Fun Dip Valentines at the Honks $1.00 store in Caldwell.  A 24 count box for only $1.00 each!!!  Ok maybe I am a dork but I was pretty excited about this deal… to get all 4 of my kids covered for school parties, and church parties for $5 is amazing!  Oh ya and “if” Honks took coupons it would have been an ever better deal with the $1.00 off printable coupon here.

So you may check your local Honks $1.00 store to see if they have them, but selection and stock will vary by store!

Shhh don’t tell my kids I busted one of these open last night… wrote a little love note to myself and enjoyed a nice little sugar rush….lol.  Am I the only adult that thinks Fun Dips are rather fun

I did one transaction.   I started out with a $10 Register Reward from last weeks deals. This lowered my out of pocket cost by “rolling” my RR from week to week.

• Bought 1 St Joseph Aspirin $2.00
• Bought 1 Blink Tears $8.00
• Bought 2 cans Butterball Broth $.99 (as a filler item to get my tax about $10 mark)
• used instore coupon to make BB broth only .50
• Paid with a $10 RR from last weeks deals
• also paid with a $1.00 coupon
• Final price .00 Plus $.66 tax
• After I paid got back a $2.00 and $8 Register Reward

So if I was only buying 4 items ( all of which had manufacture coupons which meant my item coupon ratio was already 4 to 4) I wanted to pay with a RR I would need to ad a filler item something cheap like a pencil. This would then make my coupon ration 5 ( 4 manufacturer coupons and 1 register reward) and my item ratio 5. I then could pay with my coupons and RR with no problem. An instore coupon does NOT count as a coupon in this ratio….just as a sale price.
• Also remember that only one RR per product will print per transaction. For example If wanted to buy 3 bottles of Aussie shampoo. In order to have 2 RR print for each one I had to buy them in 3 transactions. My store is happy to let me go thru the line more than once ……but some store will limit you.
• You can not pay for sales tax with a RR

I had a bunch of Catalina coupons for .75 off that printed when I bough Dole Fruit last week.  I did not post on it because I used free product coupons I had gotten at Blogher.  I was able to use the .75 off coupon with a twice the coupons and get $1.50 off bread, meat  and produce… since it was $.75 off anything.

I was able to get it all for$1.28

I got a late start today with the kids home from school for Christmas break… so by the time I got to Albertsons many of the deals I was looking for were gone.  But I did not give up because I knew there had to be a few thrifty deals to find

I was excited to see that the Up2U coupon for $1.00 from the 1/1 smart source insert, matched with a twice the value coupon would make them free. But when I checked out saw that the cashier allowed overage on the coupon… I totally forgot about Albertsons new Policy that allows overage.

Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will have the remaining amount applied to the balance of the transaction. In the event a transaction balance results in a “credit”, additional items WILL be added/suggested to the order to utilize the remaining value of the coupon. We will not provide any “cash back” on coupons; however we will provide full redemption value.

So when the cashier rang up my gum this is how it worked

 Up2U gum $1.49

• used $1.00 off coupon from 1/1 smart source
• also use a twice the value coupon found in ad from Sundays ad insert, took another $1 off
• which left me with $.51 overage to apply to another item!

I was way excited, as I had no idea my store would allow overage on a twice the value coupon.

I then did 3 transaction (each with 3 packs of gum) and 3 sets of twice the value coupons… and put the overage towards produce!

Well I guess I am ending the year doing something I said I would never do….. yip I am blogging today about FREE Condoms.  People ask me if I post about everything I buy and I always joke and say well there are a few things I choose to keep private, and I will never post a photo of a stockpile of “embarrassing items”….. well this is not a stockpile,  BUT it is just a wee bit embarrassing….

For each Box of condoms I bought it printed a coupon for $5 off ANY KY Product making a few of the smaller bottles FREE with coupon.

I started out this shopping trip with $8 in register rewards from prior deals

Transaction #1

• Bought 1 box of Lifestyle Skyn
• bought 2 clearance chocolates for filler items
• paid with a $2 and $3 register reward
• Final price $.49 plus .33 tax = $.82
• after I paid got back a $5 RR

WALGREENS TIPS

• I always check out at the cosmetics counter, and if anyone comes behind me I let them go first, so I do not hold up the line.
• One thing to remember about Walgreens RR (register reward) is you can not use a “chap stick RR” to pay for another chap stick and have another RR print. BUT you can use a “toothpaste” RR to pay for chap stick and have another RR print.
• Also remember that Walgreens has a coupon item ratio rule, you can only use as many coupons as you have items. They count RR as coupons. So if I was only buying 4 items ( all of which had manufacture coupons which meant my item coupon ratio was already 4 to 4) I wanted to pay with a RR I would need to ad a filler item something cheap like a pencil. This would then make my coupon ration 5 ( 4 manufacturer coupons and 1 register reward) and my item ratio 5. I then could pay with my coupons and RR with no problem. An instore coupon does NOT count as a coupon in this ratio….just as a sale price.
• Also remember that only one RR per product will print per transaction. For example If wanted to buy 3 bottles of Aussie shampoo. In order to have 2 RR print for each one I had to buy them in 3 transactions. My store is happy to let me go thru the line more than once ……but some store will limit you.
• You can not pay for sales tax with a RR
