WALGREENS TIPS

  • To view Walgreens official coupon policy click here
  • I always check out at the cosmetics counter, and if anyone comes behind me I let them go first, so I do not hold up the line.
  • One thing to remember about Walgreens RR (register reward) is you can not use a “chap stick RR” to pay for another chap stick and have another RR print. BUT you can use a “toothpaste” RR to pay for chap stick and have another RR print.
  • Also remember that Walgreens has a coupon item ratio rule, you can only use as many coupons as you have items. They count RR as coupons. So if I was only buying 4 items ( all of which had manufacture coupons which meant my item coupon ratio was already 4 to 4) I wanted to pay with a RR I would need to ad a filler item something cheap like a pencil. This would then make my coupon ration 5 ( 4 manufacturer coupons and 1 register reward) and my item ratio 5. I then could pay with my coupons and RR with no problem. An instore coupon does NOT count as a coupon in this ratio….just as a sale price.
  • Also remember that only one RR per product will print per transaction. For example If wanted to buy 3 bottles of Aussie shampoo. In order to have 2 RR print for each one I had to buy them in 3 transactions. My store is happy to let me go thru the line more than once ……but some store will limit you.
  • You can not pay for sales tax with a RR

Before sale price or coupons this would have cost $54.58

I was able to get it all for $16.42

To view the current weeks Albertsons coupon match ups click here

I ran to Albertsons Yesterday in between the craziness of trying to get the sight back up… and was able to grab a few thrifty deal the last day of the sale.

Albertsons Whole bird or drumsticks and thighs $.99  use the $ 2 off 10 coupon from Albertsons savings booklet with their Albertsons brand chicken(legs, thighs and fryers) on sale this week, you can get it for basically .79 a pound

Turkey hooks $2.49 on clearance for $.10 each

I came across this deal that is still good till the 8th (I think).  My store had a sign hanging up on the Frito Lay 22 pack saying you got an instant saving of $3 for milk when you bought the 22 pack.  Plus they had a $2.00 off coupon on them, making them only $1.99 after instant discount and $2 coupon.  But here is the best part, the $3 comes off no matte what, you do not even need to buy the milk!  Not something I normally buy but my kids will love them for their lunches!

Before sale price, clearance  or coupons this would have cost $198.12

$175 in clothes

$23.12 in food

I was able to get it all for $33.70

After one of my readers gave me the thrifty tip about the huge clearance sale at Walmart I thought I would go check it out.  At my store it was in the garden section and had lots of Yellow balloons marked Clearance to guide the way.  I got there yesterday in the afternoon, they had tons of stuff but it was moving quick.

Here is the food I grabbed while I was there, I got the YoCrunch yogurt FREE with coupons I got at blissdom conference.  I also got the Yoplait Smoothie free with a product review coupon.  I used the $1.00 off 2 VIVA milk from past coupon insert making them only $1.08 each.  The rest were just items I needed. ( eggs, sour cream, vanilla yogurt, french bread and whipping cream)

I was rather delighted to find a $1.00 clearance section in the back, I totally lucked out and found a whole section of boys 6/7 all for $1.00 (normally priced $6-$10) each.  Some of them even had the shirt and short set …that is only $.50 an item!!!  My son is now set for summer! I love a good clearance sale!

Before sale price or coupons this would have cost $438.58

I was able to get it all for $118.74

Plus I spent $33.00 on 2 bountiful baskets

This is much more than I normally spend, but I stocked up on enough pork roast to feed my family at LEAST the next 6-9 months.  I prefer to see a 75% or better savings, but still feel great about my savings!

Walgreens $3.68 for details click here

Winco $57.06 for details click here

Albertsons $10.25 for details click here

Walgreens $9.87 for details click here

Albertsons $4.71 for details click here

Albertsons $20.95 for details click here

2 Bountiful Baskets at $16.50 each

If you are new to my site, I know you are wondering how I feed my family on the items I purchased for the week.  Well I do not shop like a “Normal” person I stock up on the times that are at their lowest price point for the week.  I bring them home and add them to my Pantry which is full of items  that I use to make my families menu.  My freezer is stocked with meat, so between the pantry and the freezer I do not really “NEED” to buy anything.  Which allows me to only purchase things at a price that I am happy to pay.  Of coarse I have to buy my perishable items every week, like milk eggs and veggies.

Once again it goes to show that having Multiple Sunday papers for coupon inserts and for Doubles, really pays off.  This has been the secret to my saving buying multiple Sunday papers and for only $13 a month it is totally worth it!  To find out how to get the Idaho Press Tribune or the Idaho Statesman A Thrifty Mom Paper deal click them.
