Fred Meyer

Thanks to Sarah at Pocketbook Pearls for these Thrifty finds!

I found the middle booklet hanging by the frozen Gardenburgers. Inside was:

*Form for a free garden tote – fill out and mail in. No cost or s+h!

*$10 worth of Gardenburger coupons ($2.00 of any Gardenburger product)

*4 Great recipes to try.

Plus the Gardenburgers were on sale 2 for $6.00. Use the $2.00 off coupon and they are a $1.00 a box!

Then I found Annie’s Homegrown products on sale for 30% off. Next to the Mac+Cheese was a hanging $1 off 2 store coupon, and down the aisle was a form for a free activity calendar when you purchase any Annie’s Homegrown product (a $17.95 value!).

The Mac+Cheese was $1.99 plus 30% off; use $1 off 2 coupon – $1.78 total for 2 boxes (all natural with organic pasta). Plus I will receive the free calendar! You can get the form on-line atAnnies.com.

wishbone
On the back of Fred Meyer’s monthly deal/coupon book there is a $2 off store coupon when you buy any three of select products, including Wishbone Salad Dressings.

The dressings are 3 for $5. Use the $2 off store coupon plus 3 – .75 cents off Manufacturer coupon from a Sunday paper, and the total will be .75 cents (.25 cents each). Not a bad deal!

Coupon Gossip once again has a wonderful post to fill you in on all the tricks to using E-coupons at Fred Meyers

There is some awesome information HERE on La Vida Cheapo’s blog on how to load mfg. e-coupons on the Freds rewards card. This gal is really taking advantage of doublers and e-coupons (Spokane gets to double up to $1 at their Freds! Oh, the envy!)

I’ve spent the last few days after work — yep, squeezing that in for sure! — working with the Nampa Freds on how the e-coupons work, what works & doesn’t, how to enter them in when using a Albs doubler, etc. It has been interesting & they have been awesome to work with. A big thank you to Kari for trying this out — we’ve done more manager overrides in the past few days to get us out of our testing then I think she’s done in the entire year!

So, what is this? Well, as Freds is a part of the Kroger operation, they all share the same computer system. This means the mfg. e-coupons that work on the Kroger card will also work on the Freds rewards card. The Kroger store e-coupons will also work at Freds.

I used the Kroger website and the store locator to find a zipcode I could use when loading e-coupons. If you use TX as the search state, you should get some choices. So far, I have found the e-coupons will load on either the FM rewards card or the FM credit card.

Here are the sites I’ve loaded e-coupons to the FM card:

P&G eSaver — these are P&G coupons (obviously). This one needs to be a Kroger store / zip code. It appears you can only load one card.

Shortcuts.com –these are various coupons kinda like we can get off coupons.com. There are also Kroger store coupons on this site. This site will allow you to have multiple cards for the same store. This one needs to be a Kroger store / zip code.

Unilever — obvious the kind of coupons. This one needs to be a Kroger store / zip code. It appears you can only load one card.

Cellfire — this site requires a cell phone # to use it. I tried entering a land line ph# (thinking that some folks don’t have a cell phone), and it wouldn’t work. This one needs to be a Kroger store / zip code. It appears you can only load one card.

Upromise eCoupons — this site is the only one that says Fred Meyers is a participating store. However, I’m still testing this one. I haven’t gotten any coupons to work from this site yet.

On of my Bloggy Friends Coupon Gossip just wrote a post with some great news about Fred Meyer.  She shops at the Nampa store and is able to find some really good deals for you Lady’s that are looking to shop at Fred Meyers.  Thanks  Coupon Gossip for letting me pass this great info along to my readers!

Freds has a new policy dated May 5, 2009 which outlines how they will approach competitor coupons and other store doublers (namely, for us, the Albs doublers). I’ve known about this policy since May, but at the request of Freds, I haven’t posted anything regarding it. You know it’s been totally KILLIN’ me. I mean — what is my site all about but the unadvertised stuff and gossip?!

Freds wanted time to review their stocking methods, and work through this policy before it became common knowledge. I’ve really stressed how couponers buy and how this policy can drive business if supported correctly. I thought the extra time would help, and I believe now it’s time to talk about it. My biggest fear is this policy would be out there with all sorts of bad information — or an assumption the Idaho Freds work the same as other states — and lead to bad experiences at the store.

Freds coupon policy is not published, but you can get a copy of it if you ask. I got a copy from the Nampa Freds without any problems. However, the Boise stores don’t appear to be aware of this newer policy and in fact have told one of my friends it’s a fake. No, folks, it isn’t. This is definitely one coupon policy you will want in your binder.

I’ve already spoken with the Area Operations Manager in Boise regarding this policy — more than once actually. When he is back next week, I will also let him know this newest development of a “fake” policy. Whatever. The stores we will shop in Idaho have a limited acceptance (rules) for competitor coupons but do in fact take them AND doublers.

So, what is the big deal? Here is the overview of the Freds policy:

Stores with limited acceptance:
Oregon — Brookings, Coos Bay, Santa Clara, Springfield, The Dallas, West Eugene
Idaho — Idaho Boise, Idaho Glenwood, Meridian, Nampa

In select market areas, Fred Meyer accepts competitor’s food coupons from newspapers, flyers and booklets.

Fred Meyer does NOT accept food competitor’s “off total order” coupons, i.e. $10 off a $50 or more purchase.

Coupons that require the customer to use the competitor’s loyalty or club card in order to redeem the coupon will NOT be accepted at Fred Meyer.

The following restrictions apply for each transaction:

1. Maximum of two item coupons (price point and/or cents-off)
2. Limit of four double coupons — up to $0.50 off MQ coupon can be doubled
3. Expiration date and limit restrictions printed on each coupon apply
4. Price point or cents-off coupons may be combined with MQ
5. Private label items can be substituted with FM Private Label item of the same quality, count, or size.

I’ve used doublers successfully at the Nampa Fred Meyer. The next time I do, I will show that transaction to you all.

I have to say the Nampa Freds is really customer service orientated and coupon friendly. If you want to try this out, take your business there. Seriously. The folks at the Nampa Freds actually read and follow the corporate policies.

Fred Meyer has the a monthly coupon/specials book by the registers and customer service desk.  The hot items this time were Dole Fruit Cups-2 for $3.  Then if you also use the coupons for them (I believe I had one for 75 cents off the ones with gel/parfaits) that lowers them even more.  Then another hot item is on the back cover of the booklet…It had Wishbone dressing, Ragu Sauce, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and a couple of other items.  If you buy three of the items you get $2 off (the coupon is on the back cover).  So, I bought 3 I can’t Believe It’s Not Butter for 3 for $5.  Then I used three of the 75cents off I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and then the $2 off.  The end result was 75 cents for 3 I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter sprays.

Great Job Joanne

Thanks to Coupon Gossip for this info on the sale at Fred Meyer this week,

At first, I thought I might do a price comparison for the items on the 500 pt. bonus promo…and then I got my hands on the list! HOLY COW! I got this list because it doesn’t have any prices on it. It is also sorted by UPC code — which means finding your particular item will be a little challenging!

Go HERE to see the full .pdf list of items. Think of this promo like getting a $5 rebate when you buy 10 participating items.
(If you didn’t know, earning 500 pts in one quarter = $5 in coupons using Fred Meyers card).

Here is a summary — to the best of my ability — of the items on promo. If you take a peek at the .pdf file, you’ll know what I mean. Whew!! At least this will give you an idea of what coupons to gather up & what to shop for when you head to Fred Meyers! Good luck!

If I get time, I’ll try to match up coupons with this list…but honestly, right now, I’m cooked! Man, oh, man! If you find something I missed, please leave a post & let me know. After awhile, it all started running together! *smile*

Tub of coupons

fred_meyerNo don’t go and steal all the coupons, or stores will stop allowing things like this and we will all miss out.

Fred Meyer on Vista (in Boise) has a tub at the door full of coupons. It says take what you need leave what you don’t. They look like the coupons that print at the register.

Thanks to Melissa for these deals,

Fred Meyer has a sale on Post cereal for 3 for 5.00 this includes the Honey Bunches.

I bought four boxes @1.66 each ( 3 honey bunches and 1 cinnamon bunches)

I used 2 coupons for 1.00 off 2 boxes

Total for 4 boxes  4.64 plus tax

Then I received a catalina from Post for 3.00 off my next purchase at Fred Meyers which means 1.64 for 4 boxes plus tax

Thanks to Leslie for passing these deals,

The Fred Meyer on Chinden has some great clearance deals. In the back of the store by the milk, they have a bin of clearance items. They have tag invisible solid body spray for 50% off which makes them 1.00. If you use the 2.00 off coupon from this week’s inserts it is FREE. They also had some venus razors and venus razor gift sets that were marked down 50% which made them about 5.00. Use the 2.00 coupon with that for a great deal.
