Did you know Kmart offers 20% off for unemployed customers? It’s called the Smart Assist Savings Program and allows unemployed customers to get 20% off Kmart brand items for 6 months. You will need to show proof that you are on unemployment in your state of residence to qualify for this discount program.

Saving your cents went into Kmart Friday and found some really great prices on their summer items!

Here is what she  bought…

3 pks of various water guns: $.87 each each
Party Pool w/ Seat: $5.62
3 Window Pools (multi-color w/ see through windows in the sides): $4.37 each
4 snap up pools (the ones with the hard sides: smallest boxes): $1.87 each
4 2pks of water guns @ $.18 each
1 small 3 ring pool @ $1.62
1 jump rope @ $.24
Total for all of this was ONLY $34.21. Had the items not been on sale they would have been $248.84 in regular retail!

Tip: At Kmart…be a scanner! When you see the yellow or red and white clearance stickers never assume that this is the price! ALWAYS SCAN EVERYTHING! Some of the items will ring up the advertised price but most of the time the items are cheaper!

Now Kmart is doubling coupons this weekend in some areas.

I have NOT confirmed yet if it’s in IDAHO or not

I haven’t heard back yet, and no one is talking of it.

Charlene from My Frugal Adventures sent us her Kmart match ups and some info from Kmart Customer service, which probably explains why we have not seen a doubler in Idaho, and why we probably won’t see one for a while. She writes:

On another note, I contacted Kmart Customer Service five times and spoke to five different reps to confirm that as of right now this will be the last doubling event of the year.
Kmart has issued a memo that is suspending all doubling events after August 30th until January 2010. I was told by all three reps that it was a nationwide suspension of the program.

Thanks to Rachel for passing along this coupon policy for Kmart.  This gives you all the details you ever wanted to know about the rules to double coupons at Kmart.  I heard that they will be having another double promo in early September.  But I am not sure what areas will be part of this promo.

Thank you for your recent correspondence. We are always interested in hearing from our customers. We appreciate your interest in our double coupon event. This event is for select participating Kmart locations from 08-30-09 to 09-05-09.

The rules for this event are:

Sears Holdings Corporation Super Double Manufacturer Coupons Up to $2.00 with purchase of $25 or more in grocery & drugstore merchandise Participating stores only.

Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the current retail price of a single item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item.

Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased.

Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons. Excludes Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons and Kmart Store coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax.

Limit 10 coupons per customer per day.

Offer excludes products prohibited by law, including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription medication. Not valid on non-merchandise, federal or state regulated items, prior purchases, Lands’ End, Sears merchandise rung on Sears registers within Kmart andkmart.com. Grocery and drugstore items include: all food items, health & beauty, baby diapers, household cleaning supplies, pet foods, detergents, paper goods, shampoos and other beauty items, over the counter medicines such as : Tylenol, aspirin, etc.

10 coupons, per day, per customer may be doubled. Additional coupons will be honored, just not doubled. Customer should choose which 10 they would like doubled.
