My “pot of gold?” are my 2 kiddos, hubby and most importantly, My Savior Jesus Christ! This past year has been a trying year but with them, “all things are possible!” and now, our future looks bright!

Here are some of the other comments, hope they lift your spirits….

Sandy weinstein ~ my pot of gold are my 3 4-legged girls, evie, tressa and harley.

Gretchen H ~ today’s pot of gold: the internet

Angela Troxell  ~My pot of gold is my 10 year old son. He was diagnosed with PPD-NOS when he was 7 years old. it has been an amazing journey to watch my little guy grow up and to continue to overcome all his struggles. He has recently “graduated” from needing a theraputic support staff and has joined tae kwon do and has made many friends. Whenever I feel like life is getting to be too much, I just think about all the things my son has acheived and how he has fought everyday with a smile on his face, and I realize it’s really not that bad.

Gretchen H March ~Today’s pot of gold? My husband helped me clean the top of our 9 foot high bookcase so I didn’t have to climb the ladder. I hate ladders!

Gretchen H March  ~Today’s pot of gold. I received an email that I had won $100. Doesn’t put a dent in the cost of 5 windows that the neighborhood kids shot out (other than them we live in a nice neighborhood) or the hot water heater that started leaking two days ago or the mechanical issues w/ the garage door that started yesterday but it’s nice!

Lachelle ~ My pot of gold today is knowing that even though my grandma passed away I know she is in a better is place, free from the mortal limitations placed upon her in her mortal body. I know I will see her again. The peace I feel is another pot of gold. I know it is angels around us uplifting us up. I know it is the prayers of others, as well, asking that we feel peace and the love of our Heavenly Father. The Plan of Salvation is great knowledge to have, one of my many pots of gold.

Mara F. ~ My pot of gold is my husband of 32 yrs! He is AMAZING in every way!

Brooke ~My pot of gold is my 3 kids! They make me happier than all the gold in the world!

Amanda ~ Aside from the obvious answers, my pot of gold right now is the early spring, with the crocuses all blooming and many of the other bulbs and perennials poking through the earth. Spring is always a time of joy for me, a reminder that all will be made new one day.

Sandy w~ my pot of gold would be to have my mother’s trust completed, which i dont think i will ever have w/ all of the problems with the attys, co-trustee-who just quit, my siblings suing me (they sued my mother abt 5/6 times in the last 10 yrs of her life), sell or get rid of a storage room of clothes, furniture, etc. from my mother, and sell my house and move to a different state to get away from my siblings. however, i am grateful everyday for my 3 4 legged girls.

Tamma ~ My pot of gold comes in the form of a neuro stimulator. My husband has had 3 back surgeries and tremendous back pain. I learned of Pain Management, talked to them and ask if Ray would be a good candidate for the stimulator. Last week, they put on a trial for 3 days. It allowed him to get out of bed and have dinner with me. He is approved for the permanent one to be implanted next week!!!

Keri ~My pot of Gold in for sure my family Every single one of them!

Marley ~today, my pot of gold is my healthy family and healthy pets….so grateful for this blessing!

Robin ~ well my pot of gold is that im still here. in 2005 i was diagnosed with emphesema gold stage 4 and was told life expectancy is 4 yrs, its 2012 im still here, god has blessed me with strenghth to be here and with my family great drs and meds so im blessed everyday i wake up!

Melissa ~ So many pots of gold. I have much to be thankful for! One thing that stands out is that I have been able to stay home with kids or just work part time for 12 years. I’ve carefully budgeted money, and I’m thankful to have spent lots of time with my family when others have had to work.

Elizabeth ~ I am so thankfull for my men! I have 3 boys (well 4 with my husbad) I work full time and am away from home all day! but when I finally get home and hear the sweet sound of “MOMS HOME” and get greeted at the door with hugs and kisses, well,,,, life is good.

Debbie ~My Pot of Gold is my husband , who keeps me sane!

Crystal ~ My “Pot of Gold” is being comfortable with who I am, where I am in life and the direction that I am heading.

Kim M ~ When many things go wrong in my life I have a phrase I say, “when it rains it pours.” The other day I was thinking of all the blessings that we have as a family and thought, “when it rains it pours.” My Pot of Gold is my husband of 31 years, 5 children and their spouses and 11 fun grandchildren. There are many special moments each day in our family.

Emily ~ My “pot of gold” hit me smack in the face the other evening as I was giving my 2 year old daughter a bath. I looked at her big eyes as she splashed and smooshed bubbles between her fingers and my eyes welled up with tears as I thought about all the physical nightmares I had been through since her birth. Preclampsia during pregnancy and blood pressure issues after, not being able to breast feed her, due to my milk drying up, 5 months later needing a full hysterectomy at 39 and now trying to find the right hormones so I can feel “normal” again. As the tears ran down my face and my sweet little one asked, “you ok mama?” I said to her, “yes, I’m ok”, and I realized that all of it was worth it. All of these not so fun things my body has gone through was so worth this beautiful, sweet girl sitting in front of me. It has changed my attitude from “woe as me” to “lucky me”!!

Margaret P. ~ My pot of gold is watching my 13 month old son dance…tonight it was to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem! Pure joy (and pretty hilarious)!!

Adrianne ~ My pot of Gold is… My Family. With out my husband and my children I would not have any thing.

Lachelle ~ My pot of gold–to know my husband has a good job for our family and we can pay for our bills, even the expensive medical bills.

Lydia B ~ My pot of gold is my oldest daughter. She struggles daily with schizophrnia at the age of 10. Yet every day there is that moment when she leans into me, smiles and says how she loves me more than…insert random thing like Oreos or freckles. Those brief moments make up for all the ups and downs and scary things in between because I know that through it all I must be doing something right to be better than Oreos!

Liz ~ my herbs & veggie garden are my pot of gold

Spring Ross ~ I am blessed to have a little one growing inside of me, and looking forward to meeting this new little one. This month.

Robin k ~ My Pot of Gold is My Faith,Family, and a small group of Women I meet with every Monday Night. We range in age from 29-65.We come from different walks of life, socio economic status, and professions. On this one day a week for two hours we talk, laugh, cry, and support each other. It is an area where honesty and being open are the key to our friendships. Together we have had Children and Grandchildren being born, Spouses pass away, marraiges end, struggle, and thrive, Jobs found and lost, and above everything we have unbreakable friendships. I cannot ask for a more blessed life or Pot of Gold than the one I have!

Spring R ~My due date was yesterday, and I blessed with feeling a happy, healthy baby in my stomach still. Also looking forward to meeting this little one.

Danielle A~I was leaving the grocery store yesterday and I had no idea that my 24 pack of toilet paper had fallen out of my cart and was sitting on the ground. Then I heard a lady (and she had the most wonderful English accent) yelling for me. She and her daughter were following me with the toilet paper laughing. I was so in thought I had no idea I had dropped it some distance back and these wonderful people actually made sure I got my purchase back.

Jackie ~ my pot of gold is snuggling up with my fiance after a long day of work and knowing for the next 12 hours my only concern is him

Lyndsey R ~ My faith and my family! Without those two things nothing else in life really seems to matter!

JACQUIE ~ My pot of gold is my faith in God! Without him my family would not be whole.

Brianna ~ My Pot-of-Gold has to be when we were remodeling our kitchen. Our cupboard hadn’t been received when it was supposed to, so I lived without a kitchen sinks for over 2 weeks. One day my husband walked in holding 2 5 gallon buckets. He asked if they would do and all I could do was cry. It had been the longest 2 weeks of my life having to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. Those 2 buckets are kept in the storage room for an emergency. Just having a husband that was thinking of how hard it was to wash, rinse and dry in the bathroom sink and surprised me with the buckets is my pot-of-Gold. Life is full of surprises.

Dawn Kline ~ My pot of gold is my husband and my family that’s all i need in my life is them and im greatful for my family

Angel~ My pot of gold is the salvation of God. The principles that He teaches of how to truely live well. Gives my family and I strength to face anything that comes our way.

Jenn ~ My warm home. In our last house, the kids would wake up each morning, freezing – quite literally. The only heater we had was in the bathroom and a small, poorly insulated wood stove. Our new home is well insulated and we have a much better wood stove. The kids jump out of bed in the morning now! So thankful for all of our blessings.

Geri~ My pot of gold is my boyfriend who is generous with his love. We may spend the weekend doing nothing but being together and have a great time. It is a new month so time for a new series.  Today is the first day of March and my little ones are counting down the days till St. Patrick’s day.  Hoping this will be the year they catch a little leprechaun in the back yard and strike it rich with his pot of gold.   I think at one time in our lives we all had the dream of finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and living happily ever after.

As we  live our daily lives we learn that all though money can help reduce stress… it alone can not buy happiness.  It seems no matter how much we have there is never enough, and we can get trapped in the endless whirlwind of what we need or want  next.  Making us feel that what we have is never enough, it tends to be the focus on what want instead of what we have.  The classic… is the glass half full or half empty question?

So this month my goal is to focus on what I have, instead of what I do not…  It does not take long for me to look around and see just how truly blessed I am. I have a roof over my head, a warm bed, a husband who loves me, healthy children, wonderful family, food in the pantry, two vehicles that work most the time :) , the list goes on and on.  But I am going to go even further to look for the things we tend to over look.  For example yesterday my kids were playing with the lotion and made a huge mess.  It made me think when I was pregnant with my oldest our budget was so tight we did not have money for anything extra…. I ran out of lotion and could not afford to buy any.  I was way to proud to ask for help, so I simply went without.  Out of the blue one of my friends gave me a bottle as a gift,  that simple bottle of lotion bought the sunshine into my world that day….  I was so grateful for something simple.  Ten years later thanks to coupons I now have 6 bottles of lotion sitting in my stock pile ready to use…. may be simple but it was a simple blessing.

So we want to hear from you this month….  What is the “pot of gold” in your life? I hope you take this challenge to look for the daily blessing we all have and see just how “Lucky” we are.

At the end of the month, one random comment (on this post) will win a $25 gift card, so we invite you to come back daily and tell us your Daily pot of gold!

Jenna

My pot of gold is my younger brother. Last month was one of the most difficult times of my life. My brother went to the hospital for breathing trouble (he is 24yrs old). To make a very long story short, he was put on a ventilator and came very close to death 3 times. He was in the hospital for a month, and, at one point, given 2 minutes to live. That was by far the scariest moment of my life. He was put on the critical list in the ICU, with a very small percentage of a chance to live. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, which was caused by a bacteria called Streptococcus. Eventually, the bacteria spread through his blood causing kidney failure. He also suffered form a collapsed lung, among other difficulties. By God’s grace, my brother pulled through! The nurses and doctors call him the “miracle boy”. he is truly my pot of gold. Thank God he is alive and recovering!

Emily

I would have to say my “Pot of Gold” is my mother. 3 years ago, I was in an abusive relationship. Once I discovered I was expecting, my mom and I made plans to move me home, to flee the situation. If it had not been for her courageous effort, I don’t think I could have done it. She came down, helped me move, helped me cope, and most of all, was there when I needed her the most. I now have the best relationship with her because of this. I get to raise my wonderful son in a violence-free home, and get to spend time with her each day. If it wasn’t for my mother, I don’t know where I would be today. She has helped me by watching my son so I could finish school and achieve my goal of becoming a Social Worker. I hope that I can give back to my children the way she has given back to me. She is truly my “pot of gold.” Love you, Mom

Mary

My pot of gold is my family. My son (4) can drive me crazy at times when he is pushing the boundaries, but when he snuggles up with me at night to read a story before bed, hearing him say: “Momma, you’re my favorite, I love you” just melts my heart. We are just so blessed to have him, my husband and I have been trying to have another child, so far no success after our miscarriage last summer. We are just praying for God’s timing and know that my family is my pot of gold and I am so much stronger for having my son and my husband in my life.

Heather
My pot of gold is finding my best friend after 5 years of seperation. I was really needing her at this time in my life and did everything I could to find her with no luck. I even got my husband to help and he works for the police department so I thought for sure he would find her but no luck there either. So I thought well apperently she is not needed now. MY husband went to check the mail at Christmas time and there sat a letter from her. Not sure how it got to the new address but God knew that she was needed. We have been talking or texting everyday and I am so loving her in my life. She has been through alot with me and it is good to have her back. I thank God everyday that He knows all our needs.

Paige L.
My “pot of gold” would have to be my mothers. My mother-in-law miraculously defeated her battle against Lukemia. I don’t know where I would be without her sweet spirit and ever-helping hand. My mother defeated her fight against a tumor. I know I would be lost without her everlasting love and care for me.
