Healthy Halloween Recipes, Monster Eye Salad, Easy Halloween Recipes, Halloween treatsThis is such a simple idea but my kids LOVED it.  We had Monster Eye Salad as a side for dinner tonight and they gobbled it right up.   Funny thing is, is it is just a NORMAL salad, with a few candy Eye Balls  on top.  We did cut and put all the “circle shaped food” on top to play up the eyes.  But other than that is was just a normal green salad.  Hope your family enjoys this idea  as much as mine did.Healthy Halloween Recipes, Monster Eye Salad, Easy Halloween Recipes, Halloween treats

How to make Homemade Apple Chips, Apple Chips Recipe #Fall, #Apples, #Recipes, #AppleChipsIf you are looking for a crunchy sweet treat that is healthy for you, then you have got to try making your own apple chips. This is also a perfect treat or lunchbox idea for the kiddos. They are yummy, easy to make and so much cheaper than buying them at the store.

Homemade Apple Chips

  • 810 apples, washed
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Food dehydrator (I have a basic Ronco dehydrator)
  • Mandolin slicer (optional but this is how I get my perfect slices and I use it for everything!)

5 easy steps

1. Thinly slice your apples. I leave the skin on mine for a bit of extra crunch but you could also peel them if you wish.
2. Lay the apple slices evenly on the dehydrator trays and sprinkle with cinnamon.
3. Stack the trays and turn the dehydrator on. Allot the chips to sit for 68 hours and then rotate the trays from top to bottom.
4. Let sit another 68 overs (even overnight works) until they get crisp.
5. Store in an airtight gallon ziploc type bag or airtight mason jar.How to make Homemade Apple Chips, Apple Chips Recipe #Fall, #Apples, #Recipes, #AppleChips

Halloween Food Ideas, Spooky Grape Eyeballs,Easy Halloween recipes, #grapeEyes, #Halloween, #HacksThis year I have been trying to find more “healthy” options for the kids to eat on Halloween or at a party.  Sure a little sugar is fine, but my kids seem to eat nothing BUT sugar on Halloween.  These grape eyes are a fun healthier  option.  You do not even have to do every grape… you could just make 10 eyes, and set them in a large tray of grapes.  Makes them a little more spooky since you don’t know which ones are eyes for sure.

To make these you will need

Halloween Food Ideas, Spooky Grape Eyeballs,Easy Halloween recipes, #grapeEyes, #Halloween, #HacksThis is super easy and fun for the kids to eat. All you have to do is grab a grape. You now want to put a small dot of red icing onto the grape. then push your eye ball right onto and set aside for a few moments. Repeat with however many grapes you have left. Then place in fridge and the icing will harden and eye will stay in tact. Set them out in a bowl at your ext party and let the kids eat some eyes! Halloween Food Ideas, Spooky Grape Eyeballs,Easy Halloween recipes, #grapeEyes, #Halloween, #Hacks

Deviled Eggs with Spiders, Halloween treats that are healthy, #Eggs, #HealthyHalloweenFood, #SpiderEggs, #HalloweenThese Spider Eggs (Deviled Eggs) are quick and easy and a healthy Halloween treat.  They have the perfect amount of “spooky” to make them perfect for any Halloween party.

You need

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1/2 cup of mayo
  • 1/8 cup of yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle juice (or vinegar)
  • pinch of salt
  • paprika for sprinkling on top
  • 1 can of black olives

First start by boiling your eggs for 10 minutes in boiling water. Then once cooled down, peel and cut in half. Put the yolks in a separate bowl and place the white part of the egg on a tray. Then after all those are done, Grab your mayo and put that in the bowl with the egg yolks. Mix that around a little bit and then add in the mustard, pickle juice and salt. Mix well until a smooth texture. Then you want to place the mixture into a big zip lock baggy. Cut the tip off the corner and slowly squeeze into each half of the egg until it’s all gone. Then you want to sprinkle paprika on top of them if desired.Deviled Eggs with Spiders, Halloween treats that are healthy, #Eggs, #HealthyHalloweenFood, #SpiderEggs, #Halloween

To make the spiders on top you will want whole black olives (Pitted). Cut one in half and use the half for the body of the spider. Place in the middle of the egg. Then get another olive and cut in half. Then cut into thin slices for the spider legs. Lay the olives around the spiders body and the middle of the egg. Then you will have some spooky Eggs for any party you go too. These are really easy and take no time at all to prepare. Bring the crowd pleaser to the ext Halloween party.
