Todays Thankful Thoughts…

Dannette~ I am thankful that for three years I have been able to coach girls soccer from U-6 to U-10 and have seen what God can do in others lives. I coach some who are in it for the fun or the exercise. I coach one who is a cancer survivor. I have one who has survived other medical issues. I have some who are being raised by grandparents. Some are from divorces families or broken homes. Some are from Christian homes. All these girls obstacles in life are leading them to be a witness for Gods miracles. I am truly blessed to call these small girls my friends and a blessing.

Todays Thankful Thoughts…

Tamara~ I’m thankful to have my mom cancer free today! 3 yrs ago nov 22nd my mom was diagnoised with breast cancer. I so glad she is here today and my kids get their nana!
***********
Tracy~ I am grateful to the power company workers that fixed all the downed power lines from our snow storm Saturday which left us without power since then. Thanks to their hard work the power is now on tonight.
*********
Marella~ I am grateful for the loving and forgiving God that abounds in my life and for all the gifts he has bestowed on me especially my family.
**********
Lisa~ I am thankful that when times get tough I am blessed enough to realize that things are not as bad as a lot of people have it. I am blessed with a home, a job and 5 beautiful children.
***********
Stacie~ I am thankful for my two beautiful kids, my amazing husband, and our wonderful extended family. I am also thankful for our health and mostly for a loving and forgiving Heavenly Father who graces us with His blessings!
*********
Julie Wilson~ I am thankful for St Jude Children’s Hospital and for God blessing us the most wonderful team of doctors, locally and at St Jude! God really used our son to show me what being thankful really is. Although our child has been sick so much of his 4 years of life, walking through the doors of St Jude 3 and a half years ago showed me how blessed we really are. Our son looks perfectly healthy on the outside, aside from being small. His “insides” are growing stronger and healthier daily thanks to the wonderful work God is doing through St. Jude. Walking through the hospital everytime he has an appointment really makes me greatful for just the smallest things. I see the leaves change colors and think of the children that don’t get that chance. I snuggle with my son every night and think of the parents and children seperated by a plexiglass window because their child is too sick to be around anyone. We are all so blessed and sometimes God works in mysterious ways to show us.
***********
Ivonne ~ First and foremost I am thankful each and every morning that I wake up. For this I thank the Lord as he not only has given me another day for myself, but has also given me another day to spend with my family. I am thankful for my 2 children. I was once told I could never have kid’s but I left it to the man upstairs to make that final call. I have been a mom for 14 years. I am also thankful that despite loosing a 3rd child, 2 years ago, that I was at least able to hold & kiss him. Most important bring him home and have him here in his urn.  Lastly I am thankful for my husband, who not only serves in the Marine Corps and does what those outside of the military wont do, but also for being such a supportive and wonderful father and Husband
**********
Kelly~ I am thankful for God’s grace and faithfulness, even when I am faithless.
**********
Deinna~ I am thankful for healthy, beautiful children, a very forgiving marriage that has been thru some rough patches but continues to grow daily even after almost 18 years. We have become better friends, lovers and partners thru our struggles, triumphantly in love. I am thankful for everyday I am alive, every breath I can take and every lesson I am meant to learn.
*********
Susan~ I am thankful for my friend and co-worker, Richard, who doctors don’t give a lot of hope to for his prostate cancer. However, he knows they are not God, and is never giving up hope. And I hope anyone who sees this will take one moment and say a special prayer for one of God’s many healing miracles for him. And may God bless all of you. Thanks.

*********

Leah Brislin~ I’m SO thankful for my life! Had a breast cancer scare last month, but I’m fine…thank God!

I rarely get sick, and a girl who I went to school with was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She is only 25, and she is pregnant. That really made me think how grateful I am for my health and that I am not battling cancer at my age.  I am also so thankful for my family. Without them, I really don’t know where I would be. It’s amazing what god does in a person’s life

I can see them change everyday and allow myself to give them everything that I never had growing up when I was a kid.
***********
Virginia~ I am thankful for my family and my great freinds that have always treated me like family. I am also happy to have made it through another year and to be healthy.
*********

atmgraphicthankfulBeing that November is the month of Thanksgiving,  I try to reflect on all I have to be thankful for.  I admit some days it is much easier to see the “glass” half empty instead of half full.  The stresses of life, lack of time, money, energy and everyday life can get me down.   All of these things can be a bit overwhelming. Yet I have so much to be thankful for.

One of the fastest ways for me to count my blessings is to look past myself.  Past all my wants, and worries and look to someone else.  I never have to look very far before I see the challenges, struggles and mountains others face, and  I realize just how blessed I truly am.  After having our son in and out of Children’s Hospitals for his heart the world takes on a whole new outlook.  All it takes is a short walk up and down the halls, before your eyes are opened to a whole new world.  Frail little bodies, bald heads, feeding tubes,  pain, but  you will still find smiles.

To many time it takes a traumatic event for myself or others to take the time to reflect on what we have to be thankful for.  I have set a goal for myself for the month of November, to daily find something new I am thankful for.  I  want to invite my readers to do the same and hope you may share your “Thrifty and Thankful” thoughts.

At the end of the month we will randomly select a comment to send a ” $25 Gratitude gift card “. You can keep it your self or give it to another. It doesn’t matter if you say you are thankful for the dirt under your feet, or if you want to share a deeper thought. You can enter daily, or when ever you feel you are thankful. There are no limits to entries just as there is no limit to things to be thankful for. We simply want to help every one realize what they  have to be  thankful for. You can even share some Thrifty ways you are going to express your thankfulness this fall season to help other in a time of need.

Each day we will be posting  A Thrifty & Thankful Thought of the day from our readers. At the end of the month, one of you will win a $25 Gratitude gift card.    For all the details click here. Keep those thrifty thoughts and tips coming!!!

I have enjoyed reading these daily, they have lifted my spirit!  I look forward to them each day, we  will share a few with you each day.  But make sure you read the comment section and read them all!

Todays Thankful Thoughts…

  • I am thankful for my precious treasure, my daughter Anne. (Her name means “God is gracious”) After four years of waiting and praying, God answered us and gave us our little bean through the miracle of adoption in May. I thank God every day He didn’t answer my prayer one moment sooner, because I know Anne is the perfect child He had planned for me. I am so grateful every day that, not only am I finally a mommy, I am HER mommy. God is so good!
  • My thankful thoughts….. I am thankful for our small home. It is cozy and does not cost a lot to heat.  I am thankful for the wonderful teachers that love my two boys dearly every school day. My oldest is on the autism spectrum and the support at our school is amazing.  I am thankful for the county we live in. Because of living here we qualify for the best of the best when it comes to autism therapy. We have clinicians come into our home every week free of charge. They educate our entire family and they love us. They are also emotional support for me, the Momma. I love them so!  I am thankful for my part-time job that allows me to drop off my kids at school and pick them up after school and work in-between.  I am thankful for my Lord God that loves me so unconditionally even when I don’t do everything I should as a parent, wife, daughter, aunt and friend. Everyday is a clean slate from Jesus!
  • I am grateful for those who teach CPR and for health care workers. Thanks to someone out there, my father-in-law is still alive today after a major heart attack last night.
  • Today it is 26 degrees and the schools closed for the day. I’m thankful that I am able to be a stay at home mom and can enjoy this day with the kids at home. I am thankful that my husband, who is self-employed, has the freedom to stay home with us today also. Our business has just begun to pick up again after one year of no work…during that time our friends and church family have prayed for us and helped us out. I will forever be grateful for that, otherwise we would not have our nice warm home today. In the past we have been ones who gave to others and it’s very humbling to receive help. As things are improving I am looking forward to the future when we will give back even more.
  • I am thankful lately for the warmth of home. Something simple, but taken for granted all too often. Sure, we still get chilly now and then, but we can always stay safe inside our imperfect home and make wonderful memories with our three lovely children! Thank you Lord for the simple things!!
  • I am thankful for a new puppy God placed in our family, as we lost our precious dog, Charlie, this summer to cancer. Our home has been sad without our special dog. We have all been heartbroken for 6months over our loss and we have prayed a lot about it. We weren’t really looking for another pooch, but somehow God gave us a wonderful 8 month old dog named Bella to brighten our days, and heal our hearts. I am so thankful for my loving husband, our little 2 year old girl Grace, and our new dog Bella. God is good and blesses you when you least expect it and sometimes when you need it the most! Happy Thanksgiving and remember to be thankful ALL year long for your blessings, you never know when they will stop gracing your life!
  • Im incredibly thankful for my kids. We had adopted our now 11 year old daughter three years ago and were hopeful that we would be able to adopt again. Last year just before Christmas we met our now son (2 years) and our now daughter (3 years). A few months later we were asked if we would also like to adopt their baby sister and so in the course of 6 months we went from one kid to four! Even though this year has been full of financial hardship, less income and three more kids–Im grateful for the chance to stretch a buck by couponing, budgeting and thrifting. Life sure has changed a lot and some days I think back to simpler times when we had two incomes and one child but I feel so blessed and Im so thankful for getting exactly what I wanted!

What are you thankful for today?

Todays Thankful Thoughts…

  • I am thankful for my three beautiful healthy children, there are many people who don’t have that blessing. I am thankful for my husbands job, we know many recent graduates who are unemployed. I am thankful for the many wonderful extended family members we have who are just a short drive away, we are never alone for the holidays. I am thankful for the many friends who enrich our lives and lift our spirits, I am a better person because of them. I am thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me. I feel very blessed!
  • I am thankful that I’ve come to a place to embrace the good and bad, while still hoping for a better tomorrow. Thank God for that! I am also SO lucky that I have such a wonderful family.
  • I am Thankful that God has blessed me with such a wonderful mother for the first 26 years of my life on this earth. This past Janurary she passed away and it has been very hard with out her here. She was my best friend, and the world’s best grandma to my kids. She and my dad would have celebrated 30 yrs of marriage this year as well too!I am am also very grateful to God that by His grace we will all be together again in His time.
  • I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. This will be our second child, our son is 3 1/2 years old and this time we will be welcoming a little girl! :O) I am high risk, and having several problems. I am so very thankful to have my wonderful husband who works 6 long and hard days a week for me to stay home. He then comes home and takes care of me and helps out alot around the house. When I am down all I need to do is talk to him and he raises my spirits. I have the best husband in the world, and would be totally lost without him and his love and support.
  • All these thanks are beautiful and bring tears to my eyes! This year I am the most thankful for my 10 month old daughter. This is our first Thankgiving with her as part our lives and we feel truly blessed. I am also thankful that my mom finally moved home again and this year I will have my entire family in my house. I am so excited that I could burst. My mom, dad (divorced), grandparents, sister and nieces, husband, baby and best friend. Life is great!

What are you thankful for today?
