Yesterday Ingard and I headed out to use our Albertsons twice the value coupons. But once in the store were found a lot of empty shelves. The Christmas music was jamming to “keep our spirits bright” and we were determined to find some thrifty deal. I was having fun dancing up and down the isles looking for the best way to use my coupons. When I decided to show Ingard my new “friend” I bought this weekend, it is called a Revlon Twirl-Ups. It made her laugh out loud… I hope it makes you smile too
Thought I would re-post this How To Make a TuTu video for those of you looking for a Frugal Halloween idea.
With Halloween just around the corner and the idea of being thrifty still nagging at your shoe strings, what should you do? Well one idea is what our little Maleeya came up with last Halloween was an “evil princess”. So we made some cute pom pom hair clips and a super easy wrap around Tutu that just took a few minutes to make! You can even order the Tulle online and get it shipped right to your door.

We were able to product test a 10 piece cookware set from Better Homes and Garden. The only catch was Matt was the one that had to product test them, and cook me Mother’s Day breakfast. Being that he is normally the one hiding behind the camera I thought is was only fair that he finally be put in the spotlight :). CLICK HERE to watch our video and we also invite you to vote for us DAILY. If we happen to win we will be able give another set of Better Homes and Garden Pans away on our site. So please vote for us, it only takes a few seconds!
I wanted to alert you that TONIGHT, December 29th, at 8pm (eastern), Nathan Engels (MrCoupon) or Nathan Engles (they misspelled his name) along with three other people will be featured on TLC Extreme Couponing and you bet we will be watching it. Extreme Couponers are what many non-couponers call us and it will be fun to see how they portray those who love to live Thrifty by using coupons. We hope that it is positive, but whatever the outcome our goal continues to be one that inspires people to use coupons!
We may be a little ‘extreme’ but our desire and hope is for families that need to save money will check out couponing!!!
Nathan wanted to hint towards something that he built, that was about 15 feet tall!! They filmed it’s creation and it was almost entirely donated to local foodbanks! TLC also filmed the giving aspect of couponing!! During this episode they donated around $6000-$7000 in product to a fantastic pantry!!! (they shared this not to brag, but to lead by example, giving is such an amazing aspect of couponing!!!)

But I am a consumer, and fan of this Scentsy and thought it would be fun to share how I use it in my own life.

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 14 years to my best friend. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". If you didn't know already - I'm a Heart Mom. Our oldest has a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He basically has half a heart. We even started a charity called Save Lives Save Money to help other heart families in their time of need. Where couponers give back to help pay for basic needs of families in need.
I was raised on a small dairy farm. I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, and coupon shop, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch recipes and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet. You can follow our weekly Menu Plan to see how you can coupon and eat healthy at the same time!
I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. From our Coupon Database, to our page to print coupons, our Couponing 101, our Freebies 101 - we like to call it a Thrifty Living Lifestyle. We post my weekly budget review so you can see exactly how far you can stretch a budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me. For more info see A Thrifty Mom in the Media.
