we lost our male(22) and female cat(12) a few months apart after some healing we have adopted two new cats.
we have lady and the tramp but vice versa and in cat format..

our female was found in the garbage dumpster at a waffle house and our male was adopted off craigslist but what they failed to tell us is he is a very picky eater and turns his nose up to everything that isnt human food or science diet….

I shared on twitter and facebook.. I have two kittens who are sisters and they love nothing better than getting into cat fights then snuggling on my bed for a nap. Sally also enjoys perching on my office chair and “talking” to me while I am on the computer. Bella however prefers to get in my lap and watch the screen. Would love to win this :)

My cat had a bad experience trying to jump on the counter when he was a kitten. He missed slammed his chest into the counter edge and landed on his back (first time I’ve ever seen a cat land on it’s back!). Anyway, he’s scared to jump on the counter now (even though he probably easily could). So he climbs the drawer handles and belly flops onto it. lol.

I have a 20 month old daughter who runs after our cat yelling, “MEOW!” at it. I think my cat deserves this gift! :)

I had 4 dogs for the longest time, until a couple of years ago a stray black cat adopted me. I love animals but it wasn’t a good idea to bring him in the house with my inside dog. This past halloween I was worried people would torture him(?) because he is all black so I let him in. He fits in just fine! I bought him a cat gym to play on and he is content staying inside now! The commode fasinates him! I have to flush it many times a day because that is where he drinks from! He watches the water swirl then gets himself a drink! I guess he doesn’t want to share the water bowl with Fifi!

My Mom has an addorable cat name Julietta who just lost her partner Detos about 2 months ago….she recenlty started to go out on the back porch and chit chat with the birds. She caught her first bird and didn’t know what to do with it so she just sat there and had a “stare down” with it. Julietta could really use this gift and would be very greatful for it.:)

Over the summer my AC broke so the house was very hot. While I was fixing some lunch, I left the fridge door open. When I start to put some of the food back into the fridge, my cat, Kyle, was in the fridge! ha ha he didn’t want to come out either, ha! I guess he just wanted to cool out and the fridge was the best place for it :)

My kitty has lots of funny moments. One memorable one is a few years back my sister and brother in law were visiting. (My brother in law is not a cat person) He was laying face down in the bed and our cat(pepper) jumped up on the bed , climbed up on his bottom and started making dough(we call it) She just kept doing it and we all were laughing so hard. At first he was like get her off but by the end I think he enjoyed the free massage :-) I think she knew he did not care for cats and was trying to change his mind.

JACQUIE November 29, 2011 at 8:16 am

I’m one of those crazy cat ladies with 5 cats, however not on purpose! My kids begged for a kitty so we went to the local shelter and fell in love with two cats. a few weeks later our female cat had three kittens… only problem was that we were told that the cats were spayed (mandatory in our state). what a suprize that was :) im a sucker i have three kids and each kid claimed a kitten, what was a mom to do but to keep all the kittens…

One Thanksgiving, I put the turkey in the sink to defrost. I stepped out of the room and then heard a loud splat and then thump, thump, thump. My 15 pound cat, Kitty Witty, was dragging the Thanksgiving turkey down the hall.

Our Cat has no idea what he is, he loves to sit on top of your shoulders like a bird, plays and sleeps with our American Bulldog as well as he is always trying to eat the dogs food and Loves Yogurt I can never sit and eat a yogurt in peace without him trying to get into my yogurt.

We have a cheap plastic dresser in our bedroom to keep socks, underwear, pj’s etc. We came home tonight to find that one of our sneaky little buggers pulled my hubby’s sock drawer open and pulled every single sock out and piled them on the floor. I guess she thinks they need to be washed again! LOL

I have 3 male cats and they are all indoor cats! I have to completely change out my litter box every other day right now with my current litter and this would be great to try! Now on to the funny story — my oldest cat is 15lbs! I know – right – HUGE! I was sitting in a rocking chair and he jumped from the ground to the top of the rocking chair and all his sudden weight right as I was rocking back sent the rocking chair flying backwards straight to the ground (taking me with it!)

As for a funny cat story, we have two cats and a dog. Our dog thinks she is a cat. She answers to here’s kitty kitty, she lays on the back of the couch like a cat .also we noticed a light was on in our house.we assumed one of our kid left it on well a.d. couple days went by Anna R noticed the light was on again.so we reminded the kids again to turn of the light. They once again say it is not them. So we set up a camera to catch the kid who was leaving the light on. Little did we know it was actually our cat switching the light on!

Teresa Marksbury November 24, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Last february we got an new dog. Our 4 cats have been around a dog before but we didn’t know if our rescue dog had been around cats. So we slowly introduced everybody. They all did so well but a couple days later our queen cat decided she needed to make sure that dog understood she was in charge of the house. So the cat was hiding behind the cat door in the laundry room. She waited until the dog walked by to head to the kitchen and BOOM, out popped the cat and scared the dickens out of the dog! I looked at the cat and you could almost see a smirk on her face.

Brenda Gaines November 24, 2011 at 8:49 am

I have a crazy lil kitten named Chloe she is always doing hit and runs meaning she will run up on one of my other 4 cats and hit at them, jump all over them and then take off running

I have a cat who has been with us since she was born. She grew up with my older cat(94 cat years), but the way my youngest acts is not as if she is a cat. She sits like a human being, drinks out of the toliet as if she were drinking out of a cup and she talks to me every chance she gets. I swear she knows what I’m saying. I made her a bed out of a clothes basket, told her yo go to bed, pointed at it, and she actually jumped in it and laid down. What a Great Cat!

Gina Thompson November 23, 2011 at 6:59 pm

Well this time last year we had no cats then in December a stray cat shows up. She is so friendly I think it must be a neighbors. Well in April she has 4 kittens here. Okay now she is my cat. When the kittens were 10 weeks old I take her and the kittens to the vet. They all need to begin vaccinations and Momma cat needs to schedule to be spayed. Vet examines them and says ” Your cat is pregnant.” WHAT? She then had 7 kittens in August! I had 12 cats/kittens on my back porch in August! Since then they have all found homes except for Momma cat and two kittens. I really need cat litter. Thank you for the chance to win.

kate smith November 23, 2011 at 6:33 pm

Funny Story for the Win:
As an AirForce Family In Germany, we adopted a young kitten and named him “Kitty.” He was very fond of taking a swim with our toddler son every bathtime! We nicknamed him “A.C.” for AquaCat. He died a couple of years ago, and although it was hard, we had 18 glorious years sharing our family moments with him. In his memory, we celebrate him every day when we go to the “Kitty Garden” in our backyard. He’s always with us in this way.

My cat loves to torment our dog. The dog cannot walk in the house without the kitten jumping out and pouncing on him. I think they have reversed roles, everyone laughs when they see the two of them.

Our cat has allergies and we have to bathe her weekly. The poor thing looks quite pitiful when she’s soaking wet and full of shampoo. Afterwards, though, once she’s dried off, she shows her appreciation by cuddling up next to us on her favorite blanket.

I currently have 6 cats.. 5 males and 1 female named Darnelle. Darnelle is a hoarder! The cats have access to our roof and every fall she catches leafs and brings em inside to make a pile of them. I sleep with things (smokes, cell phone etc) under my pillow and she likes to dig under to get them and adds my stuff to her piles. I once found a pile of smokes under my bed.. EIGHT packs of smokes (all still half full!) She makes piles with my jewelry.. rings, bracelets etc. Best of all.. I sleep on my side and her favorite place at night is asleep on my hip. She is ONE crazy cat!

Our two cats, Amos and Alex, are always getting into it with our blink dacshund, Sally. Sally is a bird dog and goes wherever her nose takes her. Anyway, the other day, Amos was getting a kick out of being right in front of her because Sally could not seem to figure out where Amos was. It was hillarious!

Our cat Thomas O’Malley does all sorts of crazy/naughty kitten things. We’re expecting our first baby and everyday when I get home from work I find him asleep in the stroller. He always jumps out immediately when he hears me coming, but it’s so cute that he likes to sleep in there. Somehow I don’t think he will anymore when the baby is in there!

Roxie is a true cat’s cat. Finicky eater – very independent. I brushed up against her tail with my chair recently and she hissed and puffed her tail to enormous size. She’s a small cat, so she looked pretty silly with her tail all puffed up looking around for the “boogey man” that scared her.

Our cat is solid black “Cole” and was given to us by our vet after our last cat passed on. The previous owners wanted to put him down for being to aggressive. We have had this cat for around ten years and my now four year old daughter is found of babying him…ie carrying him around like a newborn. She has successfully mastered pushing him for short distances in her doll stroller–yep, one aggresive cat ;)

I’ve adopted two cats, a 13yr tuxedo, Gracie, and a 4.5yr tailless Manx, Ollie. I got Ollie as a companion for Gracie when my Siamese Marley (stray) passed from a sudden seizure. Though Gracie was listless and depressed with Marley’s absence, she was not initially pleased with my decision. He was her first experience with a kitten.
Immediately after bring him home when he was 2 months old, I noticed his affinity for water. It seemed to fascinate him: sinks, puddles, water glasses, showers. After I rescued him from the toilet bowl for the second time, I began to keep bricks on all the toilets in the house. This worked quite well, though he’d still jump in the shower if I didn’t shut the door.
I came home from work around 10pm one night, kicking off my shoes as soon as I stepped through the door. My socks were immediately soaked. I turned on the lights to find the living room’s wood floors completely covered in water. Where had it all come from? Did a pipe burst? After a few minutes of cleaning up, I realized the automatic gravity water feeder was empty. Maybe a leak?
A 5-minute test fill in the kitchen sink cleared the possibility. I sat it back down on the living room floor, and Ollie suddenly appeared. The second it hit the floor, he began scooping water out with his paw, intently focused on the jug. When it sucked a bubble in, he stopped to watch it float to the top. As soon as it did, he started all over again.
We now have a sturdy, heavy, tipless bowl.

We got our sweet kitten, Caesar, from the Humane Society in Salt Lake City. A few weeks after we got him, I made the mistake of leaving a plate of vanilla-frosted brownies on the counter covered with saran wrap. When he came to snuggle with me in bed that evening, I could smell frosting. I went to check the plate of brownies and he had dug right in, leaving whisker prints in all of the frosting! We love him dearly, even through all of his mischevious antics!

Michele November 23, 2011 at 12:51 pm

Well i had taken in these 2 little kittens named jax and cookie, They’re brothers. they play all the time, the kittens always play with my 12month old son and its hilarious, the slap him and punch him and he cracks up, when my son crawls they’re always attacking his feet its so funny !

So funny/cute when they do this!

My funny stories about my cat is that he will want to suck on our fingers like he is still a kitten. He will suck on one, then push that one away, and then move to the next one. He will do it with all 10 fingers, and he knows if he had already sucked on a particular finger or not. It makes us laugh!

When I was younger I had a kitty named Deek…one night after coming home from dinner I walked into the bathroom to find it covered in toilet paper and Deek (who was just a 3 month old kitten at the time and totally black) in the TP…it was the funniest thing ever! You would see the TP moving and all of a sudden a black head would pop out look around and go back under.

We have 6 cats right now. Moses, one of two that I claim for my own, is a big tuxedo cat.. a real love. When I get ready for bed, I say , ” Betime, ,Mo,” and he runs for the stairs. He sleeps in my arms all night- I HAVE to hold him tightly like a teddy bear or he snggles in deeper. He also likes to climb in cabinets, sit in every tight space he can find, and he has a deep fondness for drinking straws and buttons.

Veronica November 23, 2011 at 12:28 pm

I have a female cat I adopted from the shelter named her Fea. Last year for christmas my husband and I had put up a 3 foot tree (We lived in an apartment at the time) and every morning I would find an ornament in bed with us and the christmas tree on the floor. And everytime Fea was right next to the tree looking out the window like nothing happened. We’d put the tree back up and scolded her and later that day the tree would be down again! lol this year we have a bigger tree and hopefully no incidents

Ranee November 23, 2011 at 12:27 pm

I have a 2 yr old cat named Maari, and a 7 month old puppy named Charlie. One day my husband was throwing a toy from the kitchen to the living room for the dog. Maari was hiding behind the couch watching this take place. When Charlie would run by her, she would slap him with her paw. Not enough to hurt him, but enough to get his attention. They continued to do this until my husband got tired of throwing the toy.

Hi there, here is my humorous comment story about my cat as my entry for the contest.

We just adopted Autumn from the shelter, who is a five year old cat that forgets she’s a cat. Her favorite spot to sleep when we are on the couch watching TV is between my legs. Her next favorite spot is under the covers in bed! She’s got the energy of a kitten, trying to paw the buttons off our couch and always wrestling with the blankets. She is super obedient and comes when called (this seems to be abnormal for cats!). So I guess it’s not a humorous story per se, but she is quite the entertainer.
