Cloud Clay Recipe

My kids love clay and play dough. I make it at home sometimes, or we buy it at the store.  BUT this recipe is like no other, and it is SO FAST and simple.  You only need two things to make it and there is NO COOKING involved.   It is the softest and easiest clay you will ever make!!!  My science project loving daughter had a blast making this recipe with her friend the other day.  It smells amazing and leaves your hands smooth and moisturized!

Please note… if you do not get enough moisture into t he dough it will be come crumbly MUCH LIKE MOON SAND.  So you might want to have them play with it outside or on a cookie sheet for QUICK and EASY clean up.

All you need to make this Cloud Clay is:

Corn Starch

Conditioner

Food color and glitter are optional

To work the clay you can use professional clay sculpting tools

You need 2 parts corn starch to 1 part conditioner.  I used 1 cup corn starch and 1/2 cup conditioner.  Please note that the brand you use might require a little MORE or a little LESS depending on how much water is in the conditioner.    When you first start to mix it,  it will appear that it is going to be too dry.  But just keep stirring and before long you will have a soft dough formed.

If you choose to add color or glitter you can do it two different ways.

You can add it to the dough ball once it is formed and mix it in.  OR you can add it to the conditioner before you add the corn starch. I think it is easiest to add it to the conditioner … but the girls thought it was fun to add it at the end and see the “marble or stripes” it made.

Store in a ziploc bag, as the kids play with it it might dry out a little. Just knead in more conditioner to keep it soft and moist.

Don’t let kid’s eat it. But it’s awesome to play with.

You should do a video of that. My daughter would love it. She creates small versions of things as well. Mostly out of clay

I want it in purple with strawberry scented conditioner…does it smell like the conditioner?

It will last a good while in a ziploc or tupperware. But only save it if they play with clean hands U0001f61c

If you do not get enough moisture in it, it becomes crumbly and will make a mess. MUch like Moon sand
