This is legit and worked for me! Amazon is giving away a free $5 credit for downloading a free app.
Go here and opt to download one of the qualifying free apps (continue even if it gives you a message saying it won’t work on your device because you aren’t required to actually download the app to get the credit). – If you don’t have a device that it will work on, you can add it to your cloud.
Add anything to your cart at checkout and your $5 credit will automatically be applied.
If you can’t use your device, do it from a computer, that is where I did it.

I clicked on the app. It says i have to download amazon underground, so i do. Then i select one of the apps and download it. I go back to Amazon.com, add something to the cart, go to checkout but it never gives the discount. Waste of time and of data!
When I choose an app, it doesn’t give me an option to add to cart. I can click on “get started”, then it prompt me to give an email or cell number. I gave my iphone #, it sent me a link, I clicked on it and it said “oh no, you have an ios device”. How do I add it to my cart to check our and proceed? Thanks!!

Lynsie Mills, if you do it for cloud, it will work. You don’t even have to download the app all the way, I have an iphone and did it!
