Free Printable~ 2014 Memory Jar Label

2014 is just days away!  Hard to believe that 2013 is already over.  Well, whether we are ready or not, 2014 is here!  I have seen various versions of this all over the internet.  You take a large Mason jar and place it somewhere your family has easy access to it.  Whenever you have a moment you want to remember, or something good you don’t want to forget; jot it down on a small slip of paper and add it to the jar.  Gather together and read those slips of paper on New Year’s Eve next year.  What a great way to say goodbye to 2014!  Seems like it is so far away right now, but it will go far too quickly just as the years before have done.  Think of the keepsake you could create by adding these to a scrapbook, or some way that your family can look through them for years to come. Sort of like a family journal.

Not only will this be a great walk down memory lane, but you will get to take the time to focus on those great feelings of gratitude.  You will find yourself looking for something good to add each day.  I am looking forward to doing it this year, and seeing how my children’s handwriting changes through the coming year and reading what made them feel happy and grateful.

To print this off, you should be able to right click the image, save to your computer, open in whatever program you want, (Picasa, Pic-monkey) and print.  With it having the blackboard background, it may be a good idea to have it sent to Walgreen’s, Walmart, or anywhere that develops photos, to save you ink.  If you print it to a 4×6 or 3×5 size, that should be plenty big for your jar.

I wanted to take a photo of mine on the jar, but I have been down with the flu and am out of printer ink.  Sorry!  I didn’t want to waste anymore time, I wanted you all to be able to have it to start 2014 with.  So here is the deal, put a small notepad and ink pen next to the jar, attach the note with some cute washi tape (this way you can remove it and add a new label for 2015) and get ready to enjoy the notes you will get to read next December.

  1. I know that it’s only September (at least it’s the last day of September) but I’d LOVE to see what you do with this idea for 2015. I’m trying to get ahead on some craft gifts for Christmas and would love to use your printables.
