The Idaho Statesman just came out with a new Coupon Cents Subscription Offer

You will get ;

(1)  7-day subscription

(4) Sunday Only subscriptions

For a total of 5 Sunday papers ( those are the ones with with coupons in them)

All home delivered for a total of 5 Sunday papers for only $3.00 per week, or $12.00 per month (4 weeks) PLUS TAX. That means you will get 11 papers a week for $3.00, that is about .28 cents a paper.  News stand price for one Sunday paper is $2.00 so this is a fantastic deal home delivered.

To start your subscription call 377-NEWS (6397) and ask for the “athiftymom.com” special offer. Subscriptions need to be pre-paid and can be ordered in 13, 26 or 52 week increments. I would suggest you lock in this price for the 52 weeks, The price is locked for the term. When it expires you will move to the next best rate. So it is definitely beneficial to sign up for the 52 weeks and lock in the rate.

I am not sure how long they will run this offer so, get in while you can!

Now that is a Thrifty deal!

Re: Martha’s post — Just called Idaho Statesman and they just said that in order to do the “Just Sunday” subscription, it would be $1 a paper…much more expensive than the 7 Day+4 Sunday deal.

Also, had anyone else been able to be billed monthly for their subscription? While I really want to do this deal (because it is excellent!), I was told I need to pay *all* of it up front which is quite a large chunk out of the monthly budget! Not sure we can do that…

Just an FYI… a month or so ago we got a note with our Idaho Stateman that said they will no longer be re-delivering papers that are missing..including missing inserts! They will only give you “credit” on your bill! So this just means to beware and make sure you are letting them know if your carrier is not putting them where they need to be in order to be safe!!

This is only good for the Ada and Canyon co. areas. Bum deal!

Katie July 22, 2009 at 8:55 am

I called and they said it’s only for new subscribers. So bummed!

I wish I would have held out for this deal! I am currently getting the weekly paper and 2 extra Sunday papers. Do you know if they will let me sign up for more extra Sunday papers at this price? Or is it just for new customers?

Stephanie July 20, 2009 at 9:50 pm

Ok I have a huge favor to ask for all of us Arizonians… can you please work us out a deal for the Sunday only is 8.67/month and this for only one! If you want 4 or 5 you have to pay that amount times 4 or 5??!!!! The only way I can get a deal for the paper is to sign up for CouponSense which I don’t know if I want to do??

One other question, is CouponSense worth the monthly fee they charge? How does it work?

P.S. I know you probably can’t do anything about the news paper thing I am just complaining and seriously wondering how I can by almost $9 a month for just the Sunday paper (there is no way I can do this times 4 or 5!)

HELP the OVERWHELMED mama trying to SAVE MONEY for her family!! Thanks for your awesome sight!

Do you know if they will mail this for the same deal? I live in NC and can’t get a deal like that anywhere but wondered if I could order this paper at the same price and just have it mailed to my house.

Moana Fullmer July 20, 2009 at 8:16 pm

I live in Utah and am super jealous of you Idaho ladies who can enjoy this amazing deal!!

Amber July 20, 2009 at 7:04 pm

Hey Sarah,

Shannon posted your picture on her blog. If she hasn’t given it to you, you should get it. We are weird, we know. You are probably mortified :)

Is this paper one that could be delivered in Idaho Falls or is it just your area? I have had my eye open for a better paper for some friends and family there than the wimpy one they get. They only get 1 smart source when we get redplum and p and g.

And, thanks for the link for your photo binder, that was helpful.

This does beat the Idaho Press Deal.

Ali July 20, 2009 at 4:30 pm

Wow…I, too, have been putting off getting a subscription…now I have no more excuses! This is AWESOME! I’m calling right now!

Martha July 20, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Sarah,
This is sooo good to hear. I keep putting of subscribing, and now I’m glad I have. This is too goo.

I called the Statesman and they said if you don’t want to do the 7-day subscription, you can do the Sunday only with a minimum sign up of 4 papers @ $.50 each. You could do 6 if you wanted for $3…a great deal.

Also wanted to let you know the milk/cheese/yogurt coupons have been reset on coupons.com.

Jennifer July 20, 2009 at 1:59 pm

So does that beat the Press Tribune?

Jinjue Serre July 20, 2009 at 1:50 pm

Do you get 4 Sunday papers or 5?

A Thrifty Mom July 20, 2009 at 3:07 pm

You get a total of 5 sunday papers…. 4 sunday only subscriptions and 1 weekly…hope that helps
