One of my readers, April, wanted to make sure I knew about the Ronald McDonald House.  I have been meaning to do a post on it for a few weeks and I just have not had time.  So thanks for the reminder.

By couponing I am able to save myself a lot of money and able to get many items free or almost free.  I feel it is important to take care of my family’s needs first, and then give back to others.  A few weeks ago when Albertsons had the Post sale I was able to get a ton of cereal for FREE.  I got what my family needed and gave over 40 boxes away to friends that were struggling. I looked at  Ronald McDonald house wish list and saw that they were in need of breakfast items.  So we took 2 baskets of food to our local Ronald McDonald house.

This is a charity that is close to our hearts being that we have stayed in Ronald McDonald houses in other states while my son was having his 14 heart surgery’s.  Staying at a  Ronald McDonald house is a huge blessing.  It is a humbling thing to except helps from others, but something my family desperately needed.  When you stay in the hospital for months at a time, hotel stays were just not an option.  Now that my son is doing better we make it a goal to give back.  My kids love to take the food to the sick family’s.  We hope that it will teach them to serve others.

If  you have a Children’s Hospital in your area you may want to see what your local Ronald McDonald House is in need of.  If you are in the Boise area you can look at their wish list here.

It is so wonderful that you do that and that you take your kids with you to teach them to give to others!
