About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Huge Betty Crocker Fruit Snack Sale at Albertsons 3/3

Update***I was at my Caldwell store this morning they still have tons of Fruit snacks left.  But  will not be surprised if they are gone by tonight.  They had all five check out lanes full…all with people in line.  BUSY BUSY BUSY…..Make sure you ask for rain checks.  Some lady’s had cart loads 200-300 at a time…..so at that rate they will be gone soon.

bcfruitsnacks

Starting tomorrow at Albertsons 3/3 they will have Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, Roll Ups, Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Gushers on sale for only $1.00 a box.  Which is a good price for name brand fruit snacks…but this is how to make the deal even better! Remember their is a catalina running on them till 3/21.

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks 2/22 good till 3/21

  • Buy 3, get back a $1.50 catalina
  • Buy 4, get back a  $2.50 catalina
  • Buy 5 or more, get  back a $3.50 catalina

Here are a few deal scenarios for you:

No coupons still a good deal buy 5 boxes

  • Pay $5.00 plus tax
  • After you pay get back a $3.50 catalina
  • Get 5 boxes only $1.50 ONLY .30 cents a box
  • You can then use the $3.50 catalina to pay for another set of 5, pay $1.50 cash and get back another $3.50 catalina…

Buy 5 boxes

  • use  .50 off 2 coupon printable here, here, here, here, You can print them twice off each site, most of them say do not double.
  • use 2 coupon for $.50 cents off
  • Pay $4.00 plus tax
  • after you pay get back a $3.50 catalina
  • 5 boxes for only .50, only .10 cents a box

If you are lucky enough to find peelie coupons for $1.00 off 2 it will turn into a money maker!

  • buy 6 boxes
  • use 3 $1.00 off 2 coupon found stuck to the box at the store
  • pay $3.00 plus tax
  • After you pay get back a $3.50 catalina, turns into a money maker

My local Caldwell store has a shipment of over 7,000 boxes coming, but it will not surprise me if they are gone within the first day or two of the sale.  The sale price for $1.00 is only good till 3/6 but the catalina runs till 3/21……so all you have to do is ask for a rain check and you will be able to stock up on these till 3/21.  This will most likely be the lowest price of the year, so you may want to stock up ( but don’t go totally crazy, and remember to play nice…wink)

  • I love a deal but I really can’t see the point in buying cart full of fruit snacks. Moderation in all things is really the best way to go. For the sake of ourselves, our children and our fellow shoppers.

  • To Tyanne’s comment, I wonder why they were not making rules as to how many transactions you could do at a time. If they had that many they should have had to do a few and get in the back of the line. I felt a little weird doing 3 in a row. I can’t imagine! When I do multiple transactions at Walgreens I always let people go in front of me after two transactions and go to the back of the line. Sounds like some people need to learn to be more curteous.

I bought 25 boxes last night (I have 4 kids) and that was plenty for us. I was just happy to get what I got. I also bought 30 cans of juice. I would love to go in there and buy cases of them but the problem is that in my house if we have lots, the kids will want to eat lots. Even though it’s probably the cheapest I’ll get them for a while, it’s not worth my kids wanting to each them all day long and drink tons of juice. Of course, that’s just my experience with it.

The cashier that checked me out said a woman came in earlier and bought 400 boxes!!

    185th Alberton is all out

  • Yikes, I love this sale, and only wanted 10 boxes. So I called Albertsons in Twin Falls…all out by 12. Sheesh! So I special ordered them for pick up on Friday….lets hope I still get them!

  • Tyanne

I am glad to share that I only purchased 15 boxes of fruit snakes for my two kids. That was two trips:) I had to stand behind two moms that were thrilled to picked up 10cases a piece….anyone doing the math that was 20 transaction per person. It used up my whole lunch hour!!!! Remember to play nice

  • Amber

oh my goodness. The poor checkers!!! I bet they’re going to hate couponers after this week. They’ll have nightmares of betty crocker fruit shapes coming to eat them. LOL

  • Ashley

200-300 boxes, really??? I think that is obscene, but hey just my opinion.

  • mh

I was in the Overland/Orchard store about 1pm and there is NO way they are out now. They had a ton.

  • Pascale

In Boise – Fairview and Cole had tons of fruit snacks at 5pm this evening and the store only had a few people in it.

  • Wow, I was planning on getting 6 boxes and wondering if that was too many!

  • Well, actually, I DO have 10 kids – ELEVEN to be exact – well, I think, last time I counted anyway… ;)
There is no way that I could use that many fruit snacks in even a whole year! :P My dentist would sure like us though! And I don’t even want to hear the ‘I’m donating them to churches, or homeless, or Chile…’ It’s people like that who will ruin these for those of us that really would use a few more. Albertsons has been gracious (and long-suffering), but I bet it will have to end with greedy people like that!
Ugh! Makes me mad – I’m NOT going to Albertsons, my kids would probably see me at my worst if I ran into someone like that! LOL!!! ;)

I’m with those of you who think it’s excessive. I get that a person may have 10 kids and they may ALL play a sport (or two or three) and therefore that person may want a stock on hand for their turn to bring snacks. That person may want to have enough to send to school with their kids for snack time, AND whatever else “possibilities” there are, but man…those things don’t even last that long! After a couple of months they start to get hard! Talk about hard on the teeth!

  • kristi m.

200-300 boxes…wow! I’m with the others about that being a little overboard. Enough for a year…the expiration dates aren’t even that long on the box. sure they could go longer but really? Even if there are many kids in the family, there are healthier snacks to provide on a more regular basis. A little excessive. I can only imagine the transactions.

  • Brandi

I was at the Albertsons off of Eagle/McMillan at 9:45. They were completely wiped out of all of them. They said that they were over run by people at 6 o’clock buying carts full. Thats fine if you need 200 boxes of fruit snacks but maybe you should buy some the first day and leave some for the rest of us. I am new to couponing and get a little frustrated by people going over board.

  • katie

I just called the Caldwell Stadium store and they said they ran out of fruit snacks at about noon! I’m glad I called before I went! Crazy!!!

  • Michelle

Good News!! The Crest is on Sale too!!
For all that are worried about the dentist.

  • Wow, that’s a boat load of fruit snacks. I thought I was being greedy getting 20 at one store and driving down the way to get 15 more even though the first store had a lot. I think it’s perfectly ok for them to get that many, the early bird gets the worm, but it is pretty crazy! We all knew about the sale and there is no limit so if you didn’t go early and miss out you can’t be upset with them. I just want to know how they got all their coupons.

  • Alexis

Wow, lots of trips to the dentist in the future.

  • Erin

The Target coupon does not say DND. That makes it an even better deal!

  • Rosie T

well… its a perfect storm sale… its a stock up for a year price. Maybe that lady who bought 60 cases has 10 kids and they go through 5 boxes a week putting them in lunches or something. Like Sarah said, the catalina runs through the 21st, so get a rain check, and place an order with the grocery manager. Be proactive instead of upset. Can you imagine how long it musst have taken her to check out, 5 boxes at a time? Wow.

  • Montay

I was also at the Twin Falls Store this morning at 10:00 am and the store manager said that a lady had come in at 6:00 am and took 60 CASES !!!!! COME ON really !! That is waht takes the fun out of a good deal.. If you are that person, and you read this blog, really who doesn’t it is the best one around. Please next time be considerate of others.

  • dana

My kids like fruit snacks too, but 200-300! gee, wish I was those ladie’s kids dentists!!! ~and we are all wondering why obesity is on the rise in kiddos – THAT is child abuse!

That is probably the only thing that I don’t enjoy about couponing – the gluttons! :(

  • Heather

I was at our Albertson’s in Twin Falls this morning at 09:15 and they were sold out! Being new to couponing, I was amazed!

  • Brittany

I also went this morning and there wasn’t anything about a catalina with the fruit snacks. Darn!

  • kelly

The ad that I recieved today just said the snacks, not the roll ups, is that an unadvertised special on those?

  • Leanna

Sarah, there is a target web coupon available as well right now, and I just printed and it says “manufacturer’s coupon”, so I assume this could also be used for this promo.

  • Don’t forget that there’s a $1/2 Fruit snacks coupon in the Betty Crocker coupon booklet some may have received in the mail recently! Best part…it’s NOT DND! Woot!

  • Michelle

Is this a non-advertised sale because I do not see the Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks on sale in my add that came today or is it only certain areas are having the sale?

  • Tina yes they are good till 3/6

  • Tina

Will the doublers from Sunday still be good?

  • Hey Sarah,

My ad in CA runs until the 9th. Is yours only until the 6th? Just wanted to see in case you wanted to double check on that.

  • Brooke

How many is too many? My kids love fruit snacks.

  • Mistee

Is there a limit to the number of purchases you can make in a day on one prefered card and still have your catalina print?

  • Rosie T

I miss Albertsons. Happy stocking up, everyone!
