These Jalapeno Popper Wontons are a great finger food perfect for any party or gameday. You can make the filling up a head of time and fry them up right before the guest arrive. Each popper only takes about 40 seconds to cook so they are hot and ready to eat in no time! You can cook them in a deep fryer or a pan of oil on the stove top.
Recipe yields 50 wantons
You will need:
- 8oz Cream Cheese
- 1 cup mexi blend cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning
- 2 jalapeno peppers seeded and diced (to make them hotter 3-4 peppers)
- 1 package 50 count small wonton wraps
First step is to mix the cheeses, ranch and peppers together in a bowl. You can even make the filling the day before if needed or make it and use it right away… either works just fine. Open your wonton wraps lay each wrap out onto a flat surface. Put a small drop of filling into the middle of each wrap. Get a small bowl of water, dip your finger into the water and wet the edge of the wonton. Fold in half, the water will SEAL the edges together.
Fry the wontons in oil over medium-high heat. They cool really fast, 15-50 seconds on each side, you will need to flip them once for even cooking. Take out of the hot oil, drain on a paper towel. If you want you can even bake them, but I prefer the fried ones!
