I read this on
Coupon Chic and wanted to pass it along in hopes to get the word out! As many of you know my son Matthew was born missing half his heart. He will be able to one day make a wish, we want to let him make the wish ( instead of us giving him ideas). I am grateful that such a wonderful program is out there to bring smiles to our little ones who have had to go thru so much.
This holiday season, Macy’s
BELIEVE campaign builds on the great success of last year’s holiday effort to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Macy’s is adding to the spirit of “Believe” with a national Santa Tour, an honorary National Believe Day, a “Yes, Virginia” animated special, and a new TV commercial featuring Queen Latifah.
The nostalgic holiday campaign was inspired by the New York Sun’s famous “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” editorial from 1897 and includes letter-writing “Believe Stations” in Macy’s stores across the country. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $1 million.

This is a great thing, and we are going to do it for a school project (we homeschool and it will be a handwriting practice, also learning how to address a letter etc..)
But I think I mentioned before that my son Donald had leukima and was able to do a “wish” but at our hospital the social worker in charge of cordinating such suggested we go through The Children’s Wish Foundation, they did a great job and still contact us years later. They are based in Georgia and are not as well known but really they did a great job.
