 I find that I use bacon more as a flavoring, like in Yellow Squash with Bacon  or Green Beans.  Rather than a breakfast item.  Since I do not plan to eat 5 lbs of bacon in the next week  I wrapped it up in bundles, 4 slices in each package about 1/3 – 1/2 of a lb each.  Now I can keep it in my freezer and have it on hand.
