My Kids Say Such Silly Things

When ever my kids do something really silly I normally call my Mom and share it with her.  It is fun to share a little giggle with her over the phone, and she always says the same thing.  “You need to write that down, so you can enjoy it for years to come”.… Well I always have good intentions and plan to write it down.  But time gets away from me, I get busy and forget and seldom get it done.  I do not want my favorite moments in life to fade away, so I thought maybe if I made it a weekly post, I would actually get it done?

I invite you all to do the same, take a few minute each week to write the silly things your little ones said that week.  If you want to share them  you can link up at the bottom of the post each week.

I took Maleeya with me on a few errands around town.  One of the places we stopped at gave her a tootsy pop…. and it was pink so she was in heaven.  I asked her to wait to eat it till she got home, so she wouldn’t get the car sticky.  We came home and she plopped down and started paying with her toys and eating her sucker.  About 20 minutes later she came into the room, with a disgusted look on her face, arm stretched out with her sucker.

My 3 year old- Mommy “wook”

Mom- Yes I see you sucker, why do you look so upset?

My 3 year old- Mommy that  wady (lady) put dirt in my sucker… putting her sucker about 2 inches from my face.

Mom- Honey I can’t see that close to my face. What are you talking about… you must have got dirt on it from dropping it on the floor?

My 3 year old- “wook” it is brown inside…  that wady put dirt inside!

Mom-  Oh, no that is not dirt.  That is a tootsy pop and there is a brown tootsy roll inside your sucker…it is a fun surprise in the middle.  I loves those when I was little.

My 3 year old- with a disgusted look on her face… hmmm ok, popped it back in her month and went back to playing.

When my 3 girls were real small I used to write things on the calendar that they would do or say and then at the end of the month transfer all that into a special notebook I had for each of them. My youngest daughter is now 10 and she loves to get out her book and read all about the funny things she did when she was little. She especially likes that I wrote it as if I was talking to her. Now that my girls at 15,11 and 10 I still just started this up again, but found it easier to create a document on the computer, which I titled “Motherly Memories” and each day or every few days I’ll write down things the do or say that I’m sure years from now they would find interesting or funny.

According to my 6-year-old boy, bras are things women put on their chest to keep their hearts from busting out because we have so much love!!!!!!!!

The other day my 4 year old kept wanting more and more candy. I finally said, “Peyton, you cannot have any more candy because your teeth will fall out.” She got very serious and said, “But Mom, they are baby teeth. You said they will fall out anyway.”

It’s such a good idea to write it down to remember all the fun things they did growing up. I had every intention of writing some things down in the first few months and it wasn’t working so every night when I wrote in my journal I wrote on the side of my journal something that happened that day with my little one. He’s now 1 and not talking yet but I have hundreds of little things he’s done. I can’t wait until he starts talking.

My 4 year old was playing with her polly pocket sized princesses from Disneyland. She brought one to me without a head on, and a Snow White dress on, said, “Mommy, (as she pulled the dress down), these are Ariel’s boobies, (pointing at the turquoise blue bandau swim top, with intent in her face) and this is not the dress she’s supposed to be wearing.” It was so funny because she was so serious about it all. She just needed help getting the dress off, does anyone else agree those are the craziest toys invented? Of course little girls love them but can’t manage to play with them on their own because the clothes are too hard to manage.

How sad is it too though that she found the brown the stuff that is supposed to be the middle of the sucker so early on in having the sucker. They must have cut back on the amount of lollipop that covers the tootsy part. In the words of one commedian when the size of the small chocolate bars went down and they labeled them “fun” size his statement was the size of “fun” has really gone down in america!

Wow ! How true that is !

I have a calendar in my bedroom and every night before bed I write down one funny thing or milestone that one of the 4 kids did or said that day. At the end of each year I put it in my hope chest.

My three year old had the hungry hippo’s game out this week. He didnt’ have the game put together – just the hippos out. I overheard the “hippos’ complaining they were hungry so my three year old would feed them. Then I heard many burps and hiccups. My son informed me that the hippos were now full.
He has also been known to tell us he wants to eat at Pizza Hunt and that he loves Hot Tires.

I have a blog dedicated to the funny things kids say. That is so cute and put a smile on my face.

Just today I left my four year old home with my husband while I took the older kids to church. When we came home I noticed that the family room furniture had been rearranged (we’d been planning to do it for a while) I asked the four year old “Melissa did you help Daddy do that?” She replied “No, why would I?..” Duh Mom!
