About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

    I FORGOT TO ADD THE 3 DIFFERENT STORES WE WENT TO ALL THE CASHIERS WERE WONDERFUL. THEY EVEN SEEM TO GET EXCITED WHEN THEY SEE THE COMBINATIONS WE PUT TOGETHER AND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE SAVED. AT MERIDIAN AND CHERRY, THE LADY BEHIND ME WAS WATCHING THIS HAPPENING AND STARTED TO INQUIRE HOW WE DID THIS. THE CHECKER WAS TELLING HER HOW HARD WE WORK THIS,(SHES MY FAVORITE CHECKER)AND THE LADY WAS SO IMPRESSED. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN,THE CHECKER WAS EXPLAINING AND I WROTE DOWN ATHRIFTYMOM.COM FOR HER AND TOLD HER THAT WAS THE BEST PLACE TO LEARN. SHE WAS SO EXCITED. IT IS NICE TO HAVE EVERYTHING READY, ORGANIZED AND CORRECT FOR THE CHECKERS. THEY WORK REALLY HARD TO HELP US. KUDOS TO THEM FOR PUTTING UP WITH ALL OUR ITEMS, COUPONS AND DOUBLERS AND STILL BEING EXCITED AT THE END OF THE DAY TO SEE CUSTOMERS SAVE MONEY. THEY PUT UP WITH ALOT!! AND STILL SMILE : )

    BEFORE COUPONS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN $213.52 AFTER COUPONS, $3 OFF KRAFT PROMO AND DOUBLERS I SPENT $22.67!!! MY FRIEND KIM WAS FABULOUS AT SHOWING ME HOW TO GROUP AND APPLY ALL THE COUPONS AND DOUBLERS, WITHOUT HER THIS WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED. THANKS KIM!! I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR WHAT I GOT. IT IS TRULY A BLESSING TO LOOK IN THE PANTRY AND SEE ALL THE STUFF I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET FOR MY FAMILY USING THE COUPONS. ESPECIALLY NOW THEY ARE OUT OF SCHOOL. I WAS EXHAUSTED TO SAY THE LEAST BUT IT WAS SURE WORTH THE WORK!!!

    Liz, I don’t think 5 shopping trips in one day is excessive since there’s no limit to how many of those doublers per day you can use at my local Albertsons. I think it’s being a smart shopper. I had to work hard to ask neighbors for their coupons, etc.

    I obeyed the rules and went through once then put my bags in my car, then went back and did that 4 other times. Many others do that and I’ve never had a problem before.

    I just got a message from the manager at Albertsons who said the incident with the cashier was uncalled for. I will call him back today to discuss the coupons and what their policy is.

    hi I only get 2 papers. so I have 2 California Pizza Kitchen coupons and 2 DiGiorno Crispy Flatbread Frozen Pizza coupons for 1.50.( I also have 2 flat bread melts coupons for .75) so my question is can you still get the 4 for $10 deal if I mix 2 California Pizza Kitchen coupons and 2 DiGiorno Flatbread Pizza coupons for 1.50 or 2 flat bread melts coupons for .75 each?

    I did the same deal but instead of getting a 4th Cali Pizza I got a Digorno and used the $1.50/1 so I got overage all of them for free!

    Liz I am not sure why you think I went through the line 5 times???? I went through once? My cashiers are not rude, I am not sure why you think buying 4 pizza is bending the rules??? Anyhow have a good day?

    Wow, you need to come to my store. At this point, they know my face, I know their names, and even have a favorite cashier.

    I’ve had nothing but good experiences at the Albertsons at 12th and Greenhurst.

    You went through the line 5 times? That’s excessive to me, and I don’t blame the cashiers for being rude. That’s not couponing.

    I just did this deal last night. My 6 boys had FREE lunch this afternoon (well, minus the fruit and milk)!! WHOO HOO!

    It’s pictures and deals like these that keep me going back to BATTLE for more. LOVE these deals. Thanks for showing them. It inspires me.

    I sure have to earn these thrifty deals though, battling the rude cashiers who treat me like I’m breaking rules or stealing or making their life harder. I went through 5 different shopping trips and the cashiers do not like me or the DOUBLERS, though I am extra nice and have tried to make it as little trouble for them.

    I feel good though, that I came home and called customer service AND emailed them, too to complain about which cashier was super rude. I will not let cashiers get away with it any longer. I want to use my coupons and be treated with respect!!! (o:
