Many of you have read the below story, but what I also want to pass on is this. A couple weeks ago our dryer started making this banging, knocking noise. Matt tried to figure it out but he didn’t want to have to remove the large drum inside. So he called Zach at Complete Appliance and asked if they could fix it. By that afternoon Matt had the dryer back in the house and hooked up. Not only that but it only cost about $70 bucks for parts and labor. We got all the rollers or rubber bearings replaced. They were causing our dryer to thump around. So not only can you save a ton at Complete Appliance but you can also get some high quality , inexpensive repairs done! Quick too!IMG_2394

As you all know we moved into an older home a little over 2 weeks ago.  All the appliances are older, but seemed to be working when we bought the home. The refrigerator was older, and was nasty inside. But after  a good scrub down it was fine.  Matt and I would have loved to have gone out and bought a brand new one, all pretty and new, but it was not in our budget to do so.  Well only 3 days after we moved in, we realized that the refrigerator quit working.  I woke up to start breakfast only to give my kids warm milk….Yuck.  So we had to toss all the food and start looking at our options.

We needed to see how much it would be to fix the old one or see what it would cost for a new one.  We wanted to upgrade to a stainless steel  in the future….we went to go look at them but I was only disappointed realizing they were more than I could afford.

About 2 years ago my dryer broke again…Matt had patched it together over and over but it was time to get a new one.  My good friend Lisa told me about her neighbor Zach at Complete Appliance who repairs, and sells used appliances.  I was a little worried you know the sterio type that goes along with used appliances.  Lisa assured me that Zach was honest, trustworthy and sold quality work.  So we bought a large capacity dryer, for a fraction of the price of a new one.  It has been over two years and it still works great.  Since then we have gone to Zach for all our appliances and we have been VERY happy with him.

So….we called him up to see what he had in stock.  It must have been our lucky day, he told us he had a brand new high end refrigerator in that had a leak.  It was new from the showroom, but was now considered used do to the repairs.   It was  $1,700.00 new Zach fixed it up good as new, and sold it to us for $800.00.  It is SO nice, once again if I had not bought things from him in the past I might have been worried about buying a repaired appliance.  But we have been so happy with everything else we did not even hesitate!

I asked Zach if it was ok to do a post on my blog about my thrifty deal.  (still good) Not only did he say yes but he wanted to offer all of you 10% off anything in the store, or  off of Labor, or Free Delivery a $25 value to the Nampa – Caldwell area. All you have to do is tell him A Thrifty Mom sent you.  All of his appliances come with a 6 month warranty you can click here to view his web site and read how to get a lifetime warranty. Remember that he gets new items in the store weekly, so it is always  a good idea to check back to see that is new in the store that week.  You may just get lucky like me!

So thanks again to Zach for a very thrifty deal!

Wow perfect timing…our dryer stopped working on Saturday night. My husband tried his best to repair but no luck. I called him before he came home from work today and told him about your blog and the comment you left about Complete Appliance. We live in Meridian so not that far of a drive. We purchased a used dryer from Zach and I put on hold a frig for the garage. I told him about your blog and he gave us a 10% discount on both appliances! Everyone at Zach’s store is very friendly including his chocolate Lab who I fell in love with! Thanks so much Sarah we really do appreciate all that you do!

I own a property management company & I purcahse several appliances a year. Zack at Complete Appliance has been servicing and replacing our appliances for several years now. We have been very happy with his service, selection and value. He is very honest and a great person to work with.

I purchased our washer and dryer from Zach at complete appliance, and you’re right, he’s honest, trustworthy, and my washer and dryer work GREAT!

I am so glad it worked out for you to get your new fridge! It is a beauty! I wish I lived near Nampa! My freezer died about a month a go. We just can’t seem to pull the trigger on a new one! I think I will check out my policy because we lost a lot of frozen meat!

Kris is totally right on the homeowners fridge thing. I just went in today to reevaluate our insurance policies and one of the covered items was “food spoilage” from the fridge. Our new policy covers food in the entire fridge. Our old policy just covered stuff that was in the freezer. That may be something to look into.

That’s awesome. We have the same fridge… my husband used to work at Lowes and is still buddies with a store manager who was able to give us a great on one that was considered “damaged”. Turns out it had a very small dent but they way our frudge is positioned, it was hidden by the cupboard and counter.
Getting great deals like this is awesome. !

My fridge quit working correctly it would freeze to much. So it finally quit but we found out some how it got unplugged. that was in July. 3 weeks ago I thought it quit again but we found it was unplugged again.
So going through all of this I was told that if I had lost all of my food this time that my home owners insurance would have covered it. I don’t know this to be true or not but it sure would be worth looking in to especially if there was a lot of food in it.

We have a refurbished, appliance place in Tucson that we had to go to when we had a grease fire and our stove was ruined, the stove we got eveidently had the glass door broken and replaced but it worked for several years before we replaced it this year with a new one. I am not totally sure about this but if your new fridge is an Energy star you might even get a rebate (like the cash for clunkers deal)

That’s awesome! We didn’t have a washer and dryer for the longest time in this apartment. Our last apartment had an onsite, pay laundromat, so we couldn’t have a washer and dryer there. The set we’d bought several years ago was a stacked one from CHF Clearance Center, which was only good for the one place we ever lived in that was set up to accommodate the height.

Earlier this year, I finally just posted what I was looking for in the wanted section on craigslist and I got a response the same day from someone who sold me a mismatched, but nice set for $100. There was nothing at all wrong with them. She just inherited a newer set when her fiancée moved in with her.
