About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

If you are new to my site, I know you are wondering how I feed my family on the items I purchased for the week.  Well I do not shop like a “Normal” person I stock up on the times that are at their lowest price point for the week.  I bring them home and add them to my Pantry which is full of items  that I use to make my families menu.  My freezer is stocked with meat, so between the pantry and the freezer I do not really “NEED” to buy anything.  Which allows me to only purchase things at a price that I am happy to pay.  Of coarse I have to buy my perishable items every week, like milk eggs and veggies.

Once again it goes to show that having Multiple Sunday papers for coupon inserts and for Doubles, really pays off.  This has been the secret to my saving buying multiple Sunday papers and for only $13 a month it is totally worth it!  To find out how to get the Idaho Press Tribune or the Idaho Statesman A Thrifty Mom Paper deal click them.

I saw that you get multiple sunday newspapers. That would be so helpful! But I have a couple questions. I have assumed that you are an LDS family, we are LDS. And I struggle with having the sunday paper delivered or buying a paper on sunday because of my desire to keep the sabath. So I was wondering how you feel about that? Also, do you go to ALL the different stores each week/month for your thrifty deal posts? I have wondered if you ever have sat down and figured out if its totally worth while if you include all the gas and time you have to spend to go to diffferent stores? I try to just shop twice a month because I dont have that much time and, living on a miltary post, everything is far away. But you have more children than I do. How do you manage your time to be able to get everything done and go to different stores? (Sorry, a little long winded tonight.)
