You will need (makes 20 meatballs, prep and cook time about 1 hour)
- 1 lb ground beef (I used 93% lean)
- 1/4 cup raw rice (yes hard and uncooked)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pinch or pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (10 ounce) can tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce)
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
In a bowl combine:
- 1 lb ground beef (i used 93% lean)
- 1/4 cup raw rice (yes hard and uncooked)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pinch or pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix well and ad to a large skillet (try to use one with 2 inch sides so it does not bubble over) Form balls or use a scoop to make 20 1 inch meatballs.
Cook meatballs on medium heat in pan for 1-2 minutes on each side. (total cook time of about 2-3 minutes)
Turn heat down to low, and ad
- 1 (10 ounce) can tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce)
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Place a lid on pot (make sure you cover them) and simmer on LOW for 45 minutes or till rice is cooked all the way thru. Stir a few times to prevent burning, and if need ad a bit more water if sauce gets to thick. Hope you enjoy!
