Katherine C. December 11, 2009 at 4:51 pm

I get lucky and get to go to my Aunt’s house, but I usually bring the carrots and a dessert, this year I am thinking a flourless chocolate torte.

Sarah Hofhine December 11, 2009 at 12:58 pm

Dinner is at MIL’s house, so I’m not sure! I have yet to get my assignment :)

lisa December 11, 2009 at 10:10 am

I actually will be going to my grandmother’s for xmas dinner & we have decided this year that we are going to do a potluck where everyone brings a dish instead of her making the dinner.

Casey December 11, 2009 at 8:31 am

I plan on going to my mother’s! LOL!

Jamie Ryon December 11, 2009 at 7:22 am

We’re having ham for our christmas dinner.

Melissa December 11, 2009 at 6:35 am

We are having a nice ham with the usual extras like green beans and yummy yeast rolls. It’s almost like Thanksgiving only with ham instead of Turkey! I LOVE Sav-A-LOT and make it a game to see how much I DONT spend on the weeks shopping :)

ryana December 10, 2009 at 9:13 pm

tmc480 at yahoo dot com

Crystal December 10, 2009 at 4:20 pm

I’m baking a ham, mashing potatoes, serving brussels sprouts (yes, we love them) and making rolls. My husband is in charge of doing the gravy (his is the best!). I will probably bake a cake for desert. Maybe death by chocolate. Though, it could be leftover desert from Christmas Eve. That is traditionally red velvet in our house.

Madeline December 10, 2009 at 3:15 pm

I am also planning on fixing a ham for Christmas dinner. I will have my son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter spending a few days here, so a ham is easier to fix. I plan on having other side dishes, such as sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese. A salad, rolls and desserts, of course. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Kate December 10, 2009 at 3:05 pm

My family and I always do a big italian dinner on Christmas Eve then Christmas morning we make a huge yummy brunch! This gift card would big a huge help!

kelly December 10, 2009 at 11:14 am

Thank you for this great gift for all of us. Well since im from Nicaragua we do our cooking different from the traditional. Im going to do a traditional “YUCA CON CHICHARON & ensalada de rrepollo” wich is yuka root with pork grins and cabbage. its real good. and also were having platano frito con crema. wich is platains with sour cream. all this is real good. and since my husband is Mexican im going to make tamales of chiken, and sweet ones with raisens they are the best. thank you and happy holidays

Rondah December 10, 2009 at 10:46 am

I plan on making a ham with homemade noodles

Christine G. December 10, 2009 at 7:52 am

I will be going home for the holidays and can’t wait until we make the honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, and lots of desserts.

Lisa Ballmann December 10, 2009 at 2:43 am

I would love to have a nice christmas dinner for my family at home this year. I would be able to buy fresh fruits and veggys and a nice ham for us all. Its so impossible to get the basics almost lately.so extras would be a gift for my family in itself this time.

Jessie C. December 9, 2009 at 9:46 pm

We plan to have ham, turkey, sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie!

Darla December 9, 2009 at 7:48 pm

Terry @ gift cards and more December 9, 2009 at 8:54 am

I want ham and other traditional foods. Spaghetti, salad, bbq and more are also good

Jocelyn T December 9, 2009 at 12:22 am

Wow – everyone likes to serve Ham!! I’ve done that every year. Perhaps I should make something crazy like egg rolls just to say I made something out of the ordinary.

Well…. The sound of egg rolls just doesn’t make my mouth salivate like a spiral honey ham does. I guess that means I’ll be fixing up the usual. Ham, cheesy potatos, JELLO-(of course) and homemade rolls.

Al December 8, 2009 at 9:08 pm

Ham and turkey!!

steph December 8, 2009 at 4:58 pm

I plan on having something easy maybe chilli

Kathy Simpson December 8, 2009 at 3:23 pm

No special dinner for us but I will be doing crab dip and sausage balls over the next several weeks.

Katy Bevan December 8, 2009 at 1:25 pm

This will be my first year making Christmas dinner by myself! We’ll probably do ham or turkey and all the usual stuff.

tracylynne December 8, 2009 at 1:23 pm

Dinner is always Chinese food-homemade. My Dad started the tradition, sad…he won’t be here this year he’s in Canada but I am cooking anyways

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 1:19 pm

This Christmas dinner will be a fun one, I’m currently pregnant with baby #3 and she is due December 30 so who knows if I will make it to Christmas. I’m a Marine wife and 2700 miles away from anyone I know to help me so I’m currently trying to budget and menu plan for a meal I’m not sure if I can make! haha! My super great hubby has volunteered to do most of the cooking this year so I can rest and relax. He has a few ideas, mostly a pineapple, brown sugar glaze ham, a few veggie casseroles and the regular side dishes. We’re hoping to freeze some left overs for after baby is born! :)

Caitlin December 8, 2009 at 12:59 pm

I plan to help my Gram make our traditional xmas dinner…Swedish Meatballs with home-made noodles, mashed potatoes, shrimp as an appetizer (with the sauce that my mom and aunt hoard!) and plenty of pies and treats!

christina December 8, 2009 at 12:31 pm

my husband wants a turkey for christmas, we didn’t have one for thanksgiving, we had a ham instead so for christmas it’s turkey. Kind of backwards i know, lol.

Evelyn December 8, 2009 at 12:13 pm

We are lucky…my MIL is having us over for dinner! They are planning the traditional ham and potatoes, yams and turkey, etc. They also always have shrimp.

Maria December 8, 2009 at 12:01 pm

Very Nice. My son is struggling financially, I would love to give this to him.

Danielle Folsom December 8, 2009 at 11:50 am

I don’t cook for Christmas at all. It is a lazy day for just me, my husband and the kids. We will order a ham and warm up a few side dishes that are precooked.

Mary December 8, 2009 at 10:59 am

We actually make a HUGE breakfast on Christmas. (then we visit my brothers house and he does dinner)

I make:
Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits, muffins, pancakes, coffee, hashbrowns

Erica December 8, 2009 at 10:16 am

I think we are going to do seafood this year. We will have shrimp, crab legs, fish and some other things. We are still getting it together.

Jo Ann December 8, 2009 at 10:10 am

Definitely planning a ham dinner with mashed potatoes, roles, and all the trimmings!! Yummmmmm.

Jay December 8, 2009 at 10:08 am

Hopefully we will going to my brother’s house so will bring 2 cheesecakes and a corn souffle.

Casey December 8, 2009 at 9:40 am

We always gather together in my family and have one big meal. Since I’m going to school for baking, I’m always in charge of the desserts. So I will be making loads of pie’s and fudges and cookies for my family for Christmas dessert. :]

Andrea December 8, 2009 at 9:36 am

Turkey and all the trimmings, and maybe a shrimp coctail for my daughter

Gracie Cappello December 8, 2009 at 9:05 am

we will probably have ham for christmas!! YUM!!

Christine December 8, 2009 at 8:59 am

We have a special brunch casserole for breakfast and then for our 2nd meal of the day with do soup and muffins, cheeseball, crackers and a special dessert. We have our big Christmas Day meal with my big family Christmas.

Sylvia December 8, 2009 at 8:33 am

My wish/hope would be that I would be eating tamales, but in reality it will be turkey.

debbielynne December 8, 2009 at 8:26 am

Ham, turkey, and all the trimmings so this giftcard would sure help a girl out!

Vanessa December 8, 2009 at 7:54 am

Like many of the others that have commented…we are also planing on a yummy ham dinner!

BelovedAimee December 8, 2009 at 7:37 am

being ever so frugal that I am, purchased two Turkeys at Thanksgiving when they were 40 cents a pound and had a $2 coupon :) so we will be having Turkey again ..not that I mind!

chris December 8, 2009 at 7:10 am

While we are going to my IL and I’ll make what I am assigned and eat what’s there.:(

DH will most likely make oyster stew at some point to which is more of a tradition with just DH, our sons, and me.

Crystal December 8, 2009 at 5:46 am

I don’t have to prepare a big meal for the holidays. Since we usually travel to two or three gatherings and have two small children, our families usually ask us to provide things like drinks, rolls, etc. We sure do appreciate this break :)
The gift card would still come in super handy for the items we do provide.

Thanks so much! Love your blog!

Ann S December 8, 2009 at 5:33 am

We are planning on london broil, brussels sprouts, tomato bruschetta, and salad. Nontraditional but really yummy. AND, I love to shop at save-a-lot! :)

We like to serve Spiral sliced ham, Augratin potatoes, (or some other potatoes) broccoli with a cheese sauce, orange cranberry sauce, rolls, pie for dessert. My Husband really likes to have a standing rib roast on christmas eve, if we got the gift card we might be able to do that.

heather December 8, 2009 at 4:07 am

It’s My husbands birthday so its birthday cake and icecream at my house. We will follow that with a more traditional christmas dinner with ham and the works. (He still will moan that he never gets a party)

Kristy December 7, 2009 at 8:31 pm

I am still planning on what we are going to do for dinner. This year will be the first with our TWO girls, and the first away from all of our extended family who will all be out of state. A time to start a few new traditions and a few old ones close to the heart.

Lori/NW Coupon lady December 7, 2009 at 8:29 pm

We have started the tradition of lots of finger foods all day long and pizzas in the evening. We normally have a nice big Christmas breakfast.
