Why not make a craft project with your kids using food coloring and milk ?
My kids range from 7-17 years of age,
and they all loved making their own piece of art out of bread.
2 ingredientsSupplies:
White Bread
Milk
Clean paint brush
Food Coloring
3 foodcoloringGather 4 cups and 4 spoons-
Pour 1/8 cup of milk in each cup with 3-5 drops of food coloring; stir.
4 painted breadPaint a fun design.  DO NOT apply too much milk so that the bread is soaked.
Apply a small amount of milk on the brush and lightly paint onto the bread.
If too much milk is added, it is okay, it will not completely dry when toasted.
Yet, it taste just the same.
5toasted breadToast the bread.  The toasted area will turn brown where the color is not at.
My daughter cut out some butterflies with a cookie-cutter and painted them too.

Farmhouse style breadbox

I am in love with this farmhouse style breadbox. What do you think of it?

farmhouse style breadbox

Metal breadbox

Who else is obsessed with Fixer Upper, the television show with Chip and Joanna Gaines? Such a fun show and Joanna’s style is so much my style. I just wish I had the talent to pull off the things that she does! Well, for those of us that don’t feel like we have what it takes to tackle the whole house and make it Fixer Upper worth there is help. Buying small items like this Farmhouse style breadbox and slowly adding them into your already existing decor is an inexpensive way to start transforming your home. This farmhouse style breadbox looks like something Joanna would pick. But it also isn’t so far into the farmhouse theme that it wouldn’t work with other decorating styles as well.

Simple and understated, yet able to be a focal point all at the same time. Isn’t it lovely in its simplicity?

What do you think? Are you a fan of the farmhouse feel too? How would you describe your home design?

1st photo

What child does not like marshmallows-even more– cupcakes!
Add a movie and you have a fun night with the whole family,
while eating these adorable popcorn cupcakes!

2ndSupplies:
Cake mix
White Frosting
Cupcake holders
Marshmallows
Paper
Red Marker
Tape
3rdInstructions:
Bake Cup cakes and let cool.
Frost cupcakes once they are cooled.
Apply the marshmallows on the top.
My 7 year old put them on the top-there is no specific way to make them look.
4thNext:
Make the striped muffin cups.
I drew out a pattern like this.
They have them online for free, but I decided to free hand mine.
5thI cut out the pattern and added stripes.  The stripes are 3 lines thick.
Meaning when I ran the marker across to make a stripe, I did so 3 different times to make a wider stripe.
I connected the two sides together with tape, which then formed a cup.
I dropped the cupcake into the cup.
6thALL DONE!

DO NOT PUT IN OVEN TO TOAST THE TOP OF THE MARSHMALLOWS!
Frosting will melt.  I tried this to see what would happen and I had   marshmallows and melted frosting everywhere. ha ha!
You can use a longer lighter and lightly toast the marshmallows, or a blow torch.  I chose to leave them plane.

They made my heart giggle when I saw them the first time.  My daughter and I had so much fun putting them together.
Perfect for a Circus Theme party too!
