While I was in New York City for Blogher Matt and I were invited to watch the new Disney film The Odd Life Of Timothy Green. The movie will not be in theaters till tomorrow. This movie caught my eye since I first saw a preview months ago. So I was tickled pink to be selected to watch it early.
When I chat with my friends the first question is always … is this a firm worth paying to see in the theater or should I wait for it to come to video and rent it for a $1. Well I absolutely LOVED the show, in fact once it was over I looked at my watch I could not believe how quick the time went. I loved every second of it! The Odd Life Of Timothy Green is a show that I feel comfortable recommending to all ages. It is uplifting and enjoyable for the whole family. Most of you know I am rather conservative and do not recommend many films… but this one made the cut and will be one we watch again and again.
The film starts off telling the story of Timothy, and within the first few minutes of the show I was totally emotionally invested in the story. When a young married couple is told there is no way they will ever have a baby… something they had longed for and now was snatched away. It was heartbreaking to watch them go thru those emotions and dealing with the loss of the dream they once had.
But then Timothy arrives and brings the sunshine that a child brings to a home. There is a moment in the film where Timothy calls them Mom and Dad and it captures that magical feeling that all parents feel as they become parents and see their child for the the first time. The realization that your life will never be the same, and this bundle of joy has captured your heart.
There are a lot of tears shed both happy and sad, but there are also moments that will make you laugh out loud. There are great life lessons, and moments to help us remember that ALL kids are different. Learning to deal with those differences is where the real strength of character comes.
Like I said before this is an amazing film and one worth watching! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
