Thrifty deals into Thrifty meals
I was able to make this meal for my family of 5 for $4.66
That is only .93 cents a person
I love chicken strips, if we go out to eat that is what I order about 90% of the time. My husband is always teasing me that I always order the same thing no matter where we go. They are normally one of the less expensive things on the menu, and are normally pretty good. I wish I had the money to eat out everyday….someone else cooks it and cleans up . But we can not afford to eat out very often, so it is up to me to make yummy meals for my family.
Here is the price break down
- Chicken $2.50
- Flour .20 cents
- Italian seasoning FREE
- Salt and Pepper FREE
- Butter .20 cents
- Corn Flakes .25 cents ( got on sale for $1.00 a box)

This is enough to feed my family ( 2 adults and 3 small kids) adjust it to meet your family’s needs.
Take 2 extra large chicken breasts and cut them into 1 inch wide strips
In bowl add,
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 package Italian seasoning mix
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 teaspoon pepper
- stir till blended
Add the chicken strips in and toss them around till they have a light cover of flour
Then take 1 cube melted butter or margarine, and dip the chicken strips.
Take out of the butter and roll in 2 cups crushed corn flakes, and other half of package of Italian seasoning.
Place chicken strips on baking stone or sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 mins ( depends on how thick your chicken is, and how hot your oven heats.)
