In your crock pot add your frozen roast beef, ( any size) we use Chuck Roast
1 tablespoon Onion powder
1 tablespoon Garlic powder
3 tablespoon McCormick Italian Herb Seasoning
1 tablespoon “Better then Bouillon” beef base
5-6 cups of beef broth
If you start with hot broth and a hot crock pot then you cook on high for 4 hours.
If you start with cold crock pot and cold broth add 3-4 more hours on low heat after the first 4hours.
Pull the meat out and let it rest for about 20 minutes and then shred with a fork, it will just fall apart. We eat ours with a little shredded cheese on top like provolone or mozzarella and horseradish for a kick. Use the drippings to dip your sandwich in. Enjoy!
I have discovered this New Bridge Horseradish White Cheddar cheese, it is found in the specialty cheese section at Albertsons. It has the smooth creamy cheddar but with the kick of horseradish even my kids like it on their french dip sandwich. It is an easy way to change your sandwich and make it taste like it came right from a gourmet sandwich shop. Next time you are at the store look for this and other specialty cheeses to spice up your sandwich.
