Turkey Bites ~ Fun DIY Thanksgiving Treats For Kids
My girls made these last year with their Granny, as a special treat for Thanksgiving. After all, not all kids get excited about pumpkin pie, but these silly little turkey’s sure made them smile. They are easy to make and you can make them a few days before the party if you need to, which is nice for busy schedules.
To make these you will need:
Bag of pretzels (not the mini and not the large…just the standard size)
Bag of candy corn (if you have a hard time finding them, look for them in the bulk food at WinCo)
Wilton Eyes (found online or at most craft stores)
Bag of M&M’s
Bag of Hershey’s Kisses (unwrapped)
Lay the pretzels on a baking sheet, place one chocolate kiss on each pretzel. Put into the oven at 350 degrees for 3-4 minutes… just until they get shiny. They will not look like they are melted, but if you touch them they are soft. Take out of the oven and quickly begin to assemble your turkeys. Start by putting three candy corn on the top to look like feathers. Next place two eyes in the middle and right below that place an M&M on its side for a mouth. Allow to fully cool (about an hour) before you move them. Store in an airtight container, enjoy!
