About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Before Sales or coupons this would have cost $51.87

I was able to get them all for .78 cents!

IMG_2534Yesterday at Albertsons I was happy to find they marked all the Halloween cookies  down to $1.00.  At my local store they had them up front next to the deli.  They have lots of Pillsbury ones, which the manager had coupons for $1.50 off 2 ( if you got to the Caldwell store just ask to see if they have any coupons left)  But I was happy to find the Nestle Toll House cookies, they were $3.99 normal price  then marked down to $1.00.  I had coupons for $1.00 off from this Sundays Red Plum insert, which means I got them all FREE all I had to pay was sales tax.

I have several get together in the month on November that I need to bring treats to.  I got these because I figured I can bake the pumpkin shapes, and cover the faced with white frosting.  I will now have “Fall” cookies, instead of Halloween cookies.  What a Thrifty deal!

If your Publix offers the Family-Style magazine, it will have $1 Nestle Tollhouse Cookie coupon in them. It wont have the Publix coupons that we get when the magazine is mailed. But, it will have this one. I got 4 magazine’s Monday from the Publix I shopped at.
