“We WHISK you a Merry KISS-MAS”
Are you looking for a fun idea to give your neighbors or teachers for Christmas… but budget friendly?
Well a few weeks ago at Albertsons I was able to get these Betty Crocker Cookie mixes FREE with coupons, and the bag of Kisses for $.50 a bag. So all I had to buy was the whisks from the dollar store, and the red cello bags were also from the dollar store and came in a package of 30 (look in the party supply section). The ribbon and craft supplies I already on hand.
First fill the whisk with Hershey’s Kisses. Do this by pulling the wire open and little filling it up with Hershey’s Kisses. Then place it in a cello bag, and close at the top with a twist tie.
At the very top of the Betty Crocker cookie mix package is a 1 inch strip that is sealed shut. Punch 2 holes in the top about 1/4 inch apart. (Make sure you do it in the top as to not break the seal of the bag)
Cut your ribbon (I used a 15 inch piece) and thread it into the holes you just punched.
At this point I then tied the whisk filled with kisses to the bag of cookies, then added our mini card and a tag I made that says
We “Whisk” you a Merry “Kiss-mas”
Then tie a bow…. and you are done…
I printed these tags off the computer using Open Office on my computer, then punched out a scalloped tag in green with a craft punch. The red “Kiss-mas” tag was printed at the end and put on top… only after I realized I miss spelled “Kiss-mass”…..Oops 🙂
The whole project took about an hour and a half to make 12 bags and each bag cost me about $1.25 …. ahh the power of coupons 🙂
My kids are excited to give these as a fun little gift.
