We have a birthday celebration for my daughter and have all the food that we can colored green. We also decorate and encourage everyone coming to the party to wear green!!!! It is a fun holiday and we make it even more so by having the luck to have a daughter born on that day. Green beer and green milkshakes, yum.

The leprechauns always visited the house when the kids were younger. We would leave the house for a little bit and when we returned, they had came to wreak havoc on the house, and leave a trail of shamrocks and green garland an glitter, and anything green that comes to mind. My sister had a helping hand in this, but the kids were always amazed that we had just missed the mess-makers..

The past few years I have made it a goal to create a totally green dinner that my daughter and I enjoy. I also make sure to leave a special surprise just for her from the leprechauns and she loves trying to find it. It's always small and always something she can do. Last year it was a tiny flower pot with clover seeds. We have even set traps to try to catch the leprechauns. My daughter really gets into it.

Our house is awesome during St. Patrick's Day! We all wear green, and hide chocolate coins all over the house so that the kids can hunt for them! We have a rainbow light projector that we turn on and place a "pot of gold" underneath filled with goodies!

St. Patricks day is so fun! My boys love making and setting a trap the night before for the leprechauns. They come up with some pretty clever inventions. It's always exciting to see what was left in a trap that the little people escaped from. Gold coins, treats, small prizes, etc. Rainbow cupcakes are always a must have treat and green milk and pancakes for breakfast is just tradition.
