About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Wordless Wednesday

As you all know this weekend my little Matthew broke his ankle, he has been very brave, but in lots of pain.  He has needed lots of extra rest.  He enjoys his two little sister playing nurse, and taking care of him.  My 2 year old Maleeya was very worried about him and feel asleep next to him, she kept saying ” I help,  I help”  it was so cute.  The bottom photo is Matthew showing off his pretty new red cast!

P.S.  Have you noticed I am not very good at the “wordless” part, but I always feel like I need to tell the story that goes along with my photos.  Oh well !

Will your little boy be starting school full time or half day? This really will be a stressful first week of school for him. I hope he gets lots of sleep and plenty of good vitamins. How awful if he catches everything that comes with large groups of children shortly after school starts. Your menfolk have really had a rough summer, and you are the cheerful cheerleader picking up the pieces. I hope September if more kind to you.

  • So sorry for the broken ankle. DD 5 had a broken leg at age 4. She needed lots of extra attention. Hope he feels better soon.

  • I love the story that goes along with the pictures!

I cant speak for anyone else but I love hearing your stories to go along with your pics. Please keep it up. I think that your daughter is adorable saying she’ll help, none of us would have known that without the “caption”
