Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Tuesday family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Tate Castleton Family this is the 225th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
We visited this next family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Tuesdays have 5 kids. They live in a one bedroom mud house. This house does not have plumbing or electricity. There is no borehole in this village so people fetch water from streams or collect rain water.

The Tuesdays cook in the open using firewood and a metal grid that they place their pot upon. This is the cheapest means they can afford. Mr Tuesday is currently unemployed and currently works as a farmer for hire. Everyday he carries his farming equipment and goes around looking for anyone to employ him. He told me that he earns around $1-$2 everyday, on a good day. His wife works at the local drugstore and was not at home at the time we visited.
Their lack of income not only makes it hard to provide a daily meal but the children can not pay their school fees, and are currently not in school.

We were so happy meeting this family. When we arrived one of the family members called Mr Tuesday and he came running back from the farm. He had heard of other families in the village getting rice. The joy on his face when he heard his own family would be blessed with one as well. They were very grateful for the bag of Rice and expressed their sincere thanks to those who donated it to them. A bag of Rice like this can feed families for a very long time and this one means a lot to to this family.
