. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Ekaedem family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Whitney Castle and Brittany Perkins this is the 239th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Ekaedem family in a village just outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were recommended to us by his village chief. The Ekaedems have 5 kids and they live in a one bedroom mud house with no electricity or plumbing. They have a big black water tank for collecting rain water which they then sell back to the village.

They cook with firewood in a semi open kitchen. Mr. Ekaedem is a farmer and they had to fetch him from his farm when we visited them. Their farm is just at the back of the house and the whole family helps out in growing cassava and if the harvest is good then it helps them earn some money and get some food to eat but this year has not been a really good year. For most farmers in this region because they could not sell most of their harvests this year and lost most of the things they could not eat.

It was nice meeting the Ekaedems, they appreciated the bag of Rice and thanked those who donated it to their family. This bag of Rice will greatly help this family because some of their kids had to go live with other families partly due to their inability to feed them. We left them with smiles on their faces.
