Easy Halloween Spider Cookies ~ Fun DIY recipe Ideas for kids (only 3 steps)

Easy Halloween Spider Cookies ~ Fun DIY recipe Ideas for kids

I love this recipe because it is absolutely adorable, perfect for any Halloween party or event. These spider cookies look  like you really went all out to make the ultimate treat, but they are really SO EASY! Plus they give you options, if you want to make the recipe below you will LOVE IT. But if you are in a hurry or don’t like to bake, no worries buy a bag of cookies from the store and then just follow the last 3 instructions below. If you don’t have Oreos or want to make smaller cookies you can do the same idea but use Rolos or Mini Peanut Butter Cups for the spider body instead.

Halloween Spider Cookies, easy DIY treats for your Halloween Party, school party treat ideasIngredients:
¾ Cup butter, softened
¾ Cup brown sugar
¾ Cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Sandwich bag filled with Oreos, coarsely crushed (I used about 12)
12 oz bag white chocolate chips
Extra Oreo cookies
Black decorating gel
Candy eyes

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use non-stick spray. We like giant cookies so we used a woopie-pie pan.
In a bowl, mix together butter, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
In a second bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and combine.
In a sandwich bag, crush the Oreos. You don’t want them to be finely crushed, you want to have chunks of Oreo in your cookies!
Add the Oreos and the white chocolate chips to the batter and mix well.
You will want the cookies to be large enough to hold an Oreo spider. We used a woopie-pie pan on one batch and the other we used a large ice cream scoop.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until they just begin to brown. Let them cool completely on the cookie sheet.

LAST 3 STEPS…

Once the cookies are cool, use the decorating gel to ‘glue’ on an Oreo to the center of each cookie.
Add a dot of decorating gel to the back of each of the candy eyes and stick it into place. And 8 gel spider legs finish your cookie.
Let the cookies sit and the decorating gel will harden. Enjoy!

Apple Pie Cinnamon Roll recipe, #Apples, #Breads, #Desserts, #CinnamonRollsDirections:

In a small bowl, stir together the yeast, water and 2 tsp sugar and let it sit until it foams up, about 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl add the milk, melted butter, egg, sugar, and salt and mix until well combined.
Add about half of the flour and mix until smooth then mix in the yeast mixture.
Slowly add the remaining flour until combined, if using a mixer you will have to switch to using your hands or a wooden spoon.
Remove the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
Put dough into a greased bowl, cover with a tea towel, and set aside to allow the dough to rise, about 2 hours.
Meanwhile Toss the apples in a large bowl with lemon juice to keep them from browning and set aside.
Pour cornstarch into a large saucepan and slowly whisk in water to prevent the cornstarch from getting lumpy.
Mix in the sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt and bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Allow to come to a hard boil, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
Add the apples and bring back to a boil then reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for 15 minutes or until apples soften to the desired texture.
Remove from heat and set aside.

When dough has risen punch the dough down and remove from the bowl.
Roll the dough out on a well-floured surface into roughly a 16×24 inch rectangle
Spread the softened butter over the dough.
Mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle evenly across the butter.
Spread the apple mixture over top of the the brown sugar.
Roll into a log, starting lengthwise; the log should end up approximately 24 inches long.
Slice evenly to create the seperate rolls.
Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper and place the cinnamon rolls in the pan, making sure they are not touching.
Cover with a clean dish towel and allow the dough to double again, about 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Bake the rolls for about 22-25 minutes.
If a glaze is desired, mix powdered sugar, milk and vanilla together with a whisk.
Drizzle the glaze over top of the cinnamon rolls and serve.

Camping Recipes ~ Reese’s S’mores, for the ultimate campfire treat

camping menu recipe ideas reese's smore's are pretty amazing, camping hacks, dessert ideas for outdoor cookingWe went camping as a family last week,  and my nephew was celebrating his birthday. Being that we were in the mountains he decided he wanted S’mores for his special treat.  But to make it extra special we made them with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or they could choose Symphony Chocolate bars with nuts and toffee. They were pretty amazing, I have not had a S’more in years but they looked so good I could not resist. I enjoyed every last bite.

What you need to make the ultimate Reese’s S’more:
