The fastest way to peel a tomato
If you can tomatoes or make large batches of fresh salsa, you might already know this tip. BUT just in case you don’t I thought I would share. It is pretty much a MUST when cooking with or preparing a large batch of tomatoes. You can get the peels of in literally seconds with this amazing tip.
First you need to bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully put whole tomatoes into the boiling water. Leave in the water for 5-10 seconds. Quickly take out and put into an ice water bath, allow to cool so you can handle them and not burn yourself. The peels will now slide right off. The tomato itself will still be cool and not cooked, so you can slice up and enjoy as normal. Or use for canning or other recipes.
