Candy corn rice krispy treat pops
I love rice krispy treats! I wanted them in place of cake at my wedding, but my husband thought I was insane. He was probably right, but I still love them (and him) haha!
This Halloween, make these fun candy corn pops for a cute Halloween snack.
You will need
rice krispies
marshmallows
butter
round pan (I used a 9 inch cake pan)
Begin by making rice krispie treats (here is the recipe)
Once you have your treats mixed up, you will need to separate them into 3 sections. Your white, tip section doesn’t need very much, the middle and outer ring will need the bulk of it, the outer ring needing a little more.
You will need to work quickly to get these steps done before they harden, but don’t stress, it isn’t hard to do.
Press your white section into the pan in a circle. I used about a cup of the mixture for this part. I also buttered my fingers to press it down without it sticking too much to my hands.
Once the white was pressed in, I added food coloring to my other sections. The orange section will need drops of yellow and red to make the orange. The yellow section will need just the yellow. Unfortunately I didn’t think to measure just how many drops I used. Just add a few and add a couple of more as you go if you don’t have enough.
Take a handful at a time and press around the white layer in a circle. Press in firmly. Do the same with the outer layer, pressing them together so that they don’t fall apart.
Let them cool and harden for a while. When they feel firm and are not warm at all, cut into slices and stick a lollipop stick in the bottom.
Now you have a fun treat for Halloween!
