Summer is here which means corn on the cob will be on our dinner table a lot the next few weeks. We love fresh corn picked from our garden or purchased at the farmers market. But shucking the corn takes time and my kids hate to do it. Getting all the corn silk off can be time consuming as well.
FIRST step ~ take a sharp knife and chop the end of the cob off. You want to cut just above the first row of kernels. Don’t cut the end that has silk coming out you want to cut the bottom end. Make sure it is above the first row of corn or it will not work.
I assume the same concept would work if you boiled or grilled the corn, but I have not tried it. This method is perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat without heating up your kitchen. Cooked and on the plate ready to eat in 3 minutes, such an awesome trick!!!

I did this the last time we had corn on the cob. So easy and so good!
Have done this for several years and there is no going back! Easy peasy! Tastes great too!
Have to definetly try that I hate peeling corn lol
I tried this and it really works!
Cut the ends off, put them all in a cooler and pour boiled water on them then shut the lid. It’ll steam them and achieve the same goal..
Dang it, you need a microwave
Only way we do it now…

I have always boiled corn or cooked it on the grill. I have missed so much. Corn done in the microwave has perfect texture and taste. Thank you.

Th8s was one of the best things I ever learned on the internet. I have been doing it for a few years and have done it at least 100 times. I learned to cook it 4 minutes for each ear. 3 ears 12 minutes. Perfection everytime.

I tried it and it works great
My favorite way to cook it. Tried the microwave tonight but will grill next time.
I tried it tonight at our house and it really works. I am not a fan of microwave cooking but this keeps the cooking corn from heating up the house. I have what my family calls “the microwave of hell” so mine only takes 2 minutes for one ear.
Catie Weitkamp and Janet Pair Bruner this is what I was talking about 🙂
I have been doing this for over a year and it works every time and it seems the corn is perfect. Somehow the corn is sweet and delicious and sooo easy! The method I learned you cut the bottom off after and it was 4 minutes for 1 ear….8 minutes for 2…..12 minutes for 3 and it is just sooo easy!!!!

Oven works too! I usually cut the end after they cook. Either way works 🙂
