Fun Easter Egg Tips ~ How to Dye Easter Eggs With Cool Whip

A few years ago we shared with you How To Dye Easter Eggs With Shaving Cream,  The eggs turned out amazing but there was some concern about IF you could eat eggs that have been rolled in shaving cream? So this year we did the same concept, but used Cool Whip to see how the eggs would turn out.  I showed you how to make them in a Facebook LIVE video if any of you missed it, feel free to jump on and watch it!

I think the first question would be, is there a difference when you use Cool Whip (instead of shaving cream)?  For the most part no, but the eggs did turn out a little lighter in color and not as bold, but we where still happy with our results!

First  spread a layer of Cool Whip in the bottom of a pan or glass dish, about 1/2 an inch thick. Smooth it out with the back of a spoon. Use food coloring and make drops of color across the surface of the cool whip. Remember not to many colors in one spot or they mix and make brown. Take a skewer or knife and swirl the colors a little bit to make a pattern. Put on your gloves at this point, so you do not end up with  rainbow hands for the next 3 days.

Gently roll the Easter Egg in a straight line from one side to the other.

Carefully pick up the Easter Egg and gently place it in an egg carton or on cardboard so it will not roll. You can leave it there till the shaving cream starts to dry up. Usually about 10-15 minutes and you can then clean it.

To clean it take a paper towel and gently wipe off the shaving cream off the egg. Don’t worry the food coloring has already done its magic.
