One of the fastest ways for me to count my blessings is to look past myself. Past all my wants, and worries and look to someone else. I never have to look very far before I see the challenges, struggles and mountains others face, and I realize just how blessed I truly am. A week ago we came back from taking our son to Primary Children’s Hospital. All it takes is a short walk up and down the halls, before your eyes are opened to a whole new world. Frail little bodies, bald heads, feeding tubes, pain, but you will still find smiles.
To many time it takes a traumatic event for myself or others to take the time to reflect on what we have to be thankful for. I have set a goal for myself for the month of November, to daily find something new I am thankful for. I want to invite my readers to do the same and hope you may share your “Thrifty and Thankful” thoughts.
At the end of the month we will randomly select a comment to send a ” $25 Gratitude gift card “. You can keep it your self or give it to another. It doesn’t matter if you say you are thankful for the dirt under your feet, or if you want to share a deeper thought. You can enter daily, or when ever you feel you are thankful. There are no limits to entries just as there is no limit to things to be thankful for. We simply want to help every one realize what they have to be thankful for. You can even share some Thrifty ways you are going to express your thankfulness this fall season to help other in a time of need.
